Export Log Files

You can export a log file or the results of a log file search to a comma-separated values (CSV) file, text file, or Microsoft Excel® file (if installed).
  1. If you want to export only selected records from the log file, then perform a search.

  2. In either the pane or Search Results pane, do the following:
    • To save the data to a CSV file, select Export to CSV File .
    • To save the data as a text file, select Export to Text File .
    • To save the data to a Microsoft Excel® file, select Export to Excel File . This button appears only if Excel®is installed on your workstation.
    The Save DSM Log to <file type> File window opens.
  3. When prompted, browse to the location where you want to store the file.
  4. If needed, enter a file name.
    By default, the file name includes the date and time (YYYYMMDDHHMMSSSSS) and a .csv, .txt, or .xls file extension.
  5. Select Save.
    The file is saved and the Save DSM Log to <file type> File window closes.
