View RxChange Messages on Encounter History

When you receive an Rx Change request and approve or deny the request, a notification is added to the patient's chart. The Encounter History displays the notifications as email items. Note: To view a list of all Rx Change Request and Rx Change Response messages, you can open the eRx Status window and filter on the Message Type. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. On the Encounter History tab, select an encounter and select the icon.The Encounter Details window opens. Under Documents & Images, select a notification.Depending on the notification you select, the details display on the RxChange Prescription Request tab or the RxChange Prescription Response tab. Response message details include: If approved or approved with changes, both the original and changed prescriptions. If denied, original medication and the requested medication from the pharmacy. Cancel Rx Response From the Pharmacy

When the pharmacy's Cancel Rx response is received, NextGen® Enterprise EHR adds a Cancel Prescription note to the patient chart in the Encounter History tab. The note includes the following details about approval or denial: Cancel Rx Request Date Pharmacy details Prescriber name Prescription details for quantity, SIG, and date written, pharmacy response of approved or denied, and pharmacy notes with number of refills dispensed. When the pharmacy sends a denial response, a denial reason, such as No matching prescription found, is included. View Encounter Information

NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to quickly view the contents of an encounter for a selected patient on the Encounter Details window. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Select an encounter and select the button to open the Encounter Details window. Select the respective link to view any document, template, module, or report associated with the encounter.The selected patient item opens in the main window of NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: If an encounter is locked, you can open the patient item in read-only format. You can update information for a locked encounter by creating an addendum or custom encounter. Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Refill Requests

When you electronically submit patient medication prescriptions to a pharmacy, you may receive a refill request from that pharmacy. These refill requests are unsolicited and until you respond to a request, you have no other interaction with the pharmacy that requested the refill. Each refill request creates a task in the Workflow module and the Manage Refills window in the Medications module. NextGen® Enterprise EHR evaluates the status of the medication in the patient's chart. If the request can be matched to an existing patient, the information appears with the option to approve or deny the request.
