Enterprise Chart and Interoperability
The following rules apply when using patient consent, importing Continuity of Care Documents (CCDs), and using on-demand registration in conjunction with Enterprise Chart.
An enterprise-wide consent policy can be configured for each combination of enterprise and external system. Consent policies can include practice overrides that change the consent default for particular practices. You can specify consent rules for individual patients that override the enterprise or practice level settings.
For more information, see Privacy Consent.
When importing Continuity of Care Documents (CCDs) using the Data Share Module or Medical Summary Utility, the following rules apply:
- When Enterprise Chart is enabled, and a CCD is imported, the document is shared across practices.
- When Enterprise Chart is not enabled, and a CCD is imported, the document is imported only to the practice the user is logged on to.
When using on-demand registration in the Data Share Module or Medical Summary Utility, the following rules apply:
- When Enterprise Chart is enabled, on-demand registration is shared across practices, and only one on-demand registration is required for a patient.
- When Enterprise Chart is not enabled, you can perform on-demand registration for a patient at each practice.
