Templates Preferences

The Templates preferences enable you to do the following: Select specific templates to include in the Preferred list of templates in the Select Template window. Set up a default template for new encounters and for the Workflow module Appointments window. Assign a 3-dimensional view to read-only template fields. Set up Default Offline Generator Preferences

If you are using the TX Text Control, you can set up your offline generating preferences in the Generating section of the Documents tab. Note: The preferences in the Generating section apply only to documents that are generated offline from a Launch Document template trigger using the Document Queue utility for the TX Text Control. The preference settings are specific to each user machine. If no default preferences are set, documents are sent to the first available running instance of Document Queue and the default Windows printer. If you generate documents offline using the Documents icon on the Top Toolbar, you can select the generator and printer on the Generate a Document window. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Documents (TX Text Control) Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR . Document Viewer Preferences

You can set preferences for your document viewers by document type. The Machine Settings/Document Type Viewers section displays the current viewer for each document type. If necessary, select another viewer from the list for each document type. The following viewers are available: RTF Documents. TX Text, Word Application Text Documents. TX Text, Word Application Word Documents. Word Application Unknown Documents. TX Text, Word Application Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you use the TX Text document viewer as your default for all types of documents. When you open a HED format document, it is converted to RTF format in real time and the resulting RTF file is displayed in the TX Text viewer. Parent topic: Set up Documents Preferences

You can set up documents preferences for: Viewers by document type A default generator and a default printer for documents launched from a template trigger and generated offline using the Document Queue utility Checking spelling in documents (TX Text viewer only) Default layout view of TX Text documents Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select Tools and select Preferences. The Preferences window opens. Select the Documents tab. Set up the applicable preferences in each section. To save preferences, perform one of the following: Select OK to save the preferences and close the window. Select Apply if you want to continue setting other user preferences on tabs in the window. Set up Default Document View Preferences

You can set the default view of a document when you open a patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the User Settings section on the Documents tab , select the default view from the Default TX Text View list. Select Apply. Select OK. Parent topic: Documents Preferences

Default Generator and Printer Preferences

You can set the default generator and a default printer for the documents generated from a template trigger and generated offline using the Document Queue utility.
