The
Documents tab enables you to set up documents preferences for the following:
- Viewers by document type
- A default generator and a default printer for documents opened from a template trigger and generated offline using the Document Queue utility
- Checking spelling in documents (TX Text viewer only)
- Setting the default view for documents
Note: If you are using the Document Builder application with the TX Text Control®, the Documents tab of the Preferences window displays a Generating section. If you are using the Document Builder application with the HighEdit Control®, the Documents tab of the Preferences window does not include the Generating section.
The following document type preferences and the default viewers are available:
- RTF Documents. TX Text, Word Application
- Text Documents. TX Text, Word Application
- Word Documents. Word Application
- Unknown Documents. TX Text, Word Application
Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you use the TX Text document viewer as your default for all types of documents.
When you open a HED format document, it is converted to RTF format in real time and the resulting RTF file is displayed in the TX Text viewer.
