Set up Spell Checker Preferences

In the User Settings section, set your preferences for the spell checker and default layout view of TX Text documents. For the TX Text Viewer only, you can set up the default view for how your TX Text documents display in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the User Settings section, select one of the following view options from the Default TX Text View list: Normal View Page Layout View Word Wrap View Note: Normal View is the default. You can set up documents preferences for: Viewers by document type A default generator and a default printer for documents launched from a template trigger and generated offline using the Document Queue utility Checking spelling in documents (TX Text viewer only) Default layout view of TX Text documents Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select Tools and select Preferences. The Preferences window opens. Select the Documents tab. Set up the applicable preferences in each section. To save preferences, perform one of the following: Select OK to save the preferences and close the window. Select Apply if you want to continue setting other user preferences on tabs in the window. The Documents tab enables you to set up documents preferences for the following: Viewers by document type A default generator and a default printer for documents opened from a template trigger and generated offline using the Document Queue utility Checking spelling in documents (TX Text viewer only) Setting the default view for documents Note: If you are using the Document Builder application with the TX Text Control®, the Documents tab of the Preferences window displays a Generating section. Document Type Viewers

NextGen® Enterprise EHR provides the following three document viewers for use with different document formats. You can specify document viewers under NextGen® Enterprise EHR Documents Preferences. Your system administrator can help you determine which viewers are appropriate for your practice. Viewer Format Supported Description TX Text .doc .docx .rtf .txt TX Text is the default viewer for all patient documents. It is also the default viewer for documents in Rich Text Format (RTF) and plain text format that are attached to patient encounters/categories in NextGen® Enterprise EHR through the Document Monitor utility. Note: NextGen® Healthcare recommends using the TX Text viewer for all supported document formats. The ability to insert addendums and lab results in a patient document is available with this viewer only. Set up Default Document View Preferences

You can set the default view of a document when you open a patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the User Settings section on the Documents tab , select the default view from the Default TX Text View list. Select Apply. Select OK. Parent topic: Documents Preferences

Attach Addendums to Patient Document

Before you begin To use addendums, the following settings are required in the System Administrator application: The Save As RTF Universal Preference must be set to False. Under Operations Rights / EHR Documents/Add Document Addendums, your user Access Rights must be set to Yes. The TX Text viewer enables you to attach an addendum to a signed-off patient document, if you have permission to do so. You can attach multiple addendums to a single patient document. The addendum feature is not available in the HighEdit or Word Application viewer. Note: You can attach an addendum to a third-party patient document after you sign off on it. If an update is received for the patient document, and document archiving is enabled, the updated document is sent to the NextGen® Clinical Message Manager. The update does not automatically overwrite the original document and any attached addendum.
