Select Vaccines to Exclude

You can exclude one or more vaccine groups. On the Chart or Recommendation view, select the vaccine to exclude, for example, Influenza. Click Exclusion. The Vaccine Exclusion Form window appears. In the Exclusion/Deferral Reason section, click the reason, for example Allergy. If the exclusion is a deferral, enter the date range or select the dates from the calendar in the Start date and End date fields. To exclude a vaccine group (or groups), select the vaccine from the Available For Exclusion list. If you want to exclude all the listed vaccines, click Check All. To “undo” a vaccine marked as an exclusion, click Delete Exclusion. Click Save. Note: To view exclusions from another practice, click the Other Exclusions tab. Patient with no Previously Documented Immunizations

For reporting purposes, you can indicate that a patient has no record of receiving immunizations. When you select the Immunizations tab, if the patient has no record of receiving immunizations, the system displays a No Known Immunization History check box on the Chart tab toolbar. To confirm that no immunization records exist, select the No Known Immunizations History check box. If a patient has received immunizations, the No Known Immunization History check box does not appear on the Chart tab. In some cases, a patient may have previously documented immunizations in another practice and the No Known Immunization History check box appears. This can occur if the patient’s chart is not shared with other practices. Mark a Vaccines Series as Complete to Verify Documented Immunizations

Scenario: A patient has received immunizations in another practice but does not know the dates of the immunizations. Select the Immunizations tab. To mark the previous immunizations as complete, select Exclusions. Select Series Complete and select the vaccines to complete the series. To save your changes, select Save & Close. Manage Vaccine Exclusions

You can exclude a vaccine or vaccine group for a patient and also document a vaccination series completion on the Vaccine Exclusion Form window. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To exclude a vaccine or vaccine group, do the following: Select the menu icon, select Exclusions, and then select a vaccine group from the list. The Vaccine Exclusion Form window opens displaying the Exclusions tab. Under Exclusion/Deferral Reason, select the exclusion reason. If the exclusion is a deferral, you can select the date range under Start date and End date. To exclude a single vaccine group, select the vaccine from the Available For Exclusion list. To exclude all listed vaccines, you can select Check All. Select Save. To document a vaccination series completion, do the following: Select the menu icon and select Series Completions. For each visit, you need the flexibility to work with the Immunization functions as each event occurs in real time. If needed, for example, you may need to do any of the following: View or hide dose exceptions when administering immunizations. Select and document Excluded Immunizations. Document that an Immunizations series is complete. Mark a patient who has no previously documented immunizations for reporting purposes and tracking. Report adverse events. Document erroneous or wasted immunizations. Open File Maintenance or the Vaccine Inventory as you process an Immunization order. Select the Immunizations Chart or Recommendation Schedules

When you access the Immunizations module, you can select either the Chart or the Recommendation schedule. From the Orders Module, select the Immunizations tab. Either the Immunizations or Recommendation Schedule appears. To select another schedule, select either the Chart tab or the Recommendation tab. Note: The Recommendation schedule view is the system default. If you selected the Chart view on the Preferences window, the Chart view appears.
