Enroll a Patient in Enterprise Chart from the Modify Patient Information Window

If you did not enroll a new patient in Enterprise Chart from the Add Patient Information window, you can enroll the patient manually from the Modify Patient Information window. This option is available in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and NextGen® Optical Management applications. Access the Patient Lookup window. Perform a search for the applicable patient. Select the patient. Do one of the following: Select the Open Menu button, and select Open. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, from the File menu, select Modify Patient. The Demographics tab of the Modify Patient Information window appears. Select the Enterprise Chart check box. Select OK. The existing patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Note: For a patient newly enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you may need to reopen the patient's chart to view information from other practices. Enterprise Chart Patients

If a patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you can view the patient's clinical data across all practices within your enterprise. To view patient data in Enterprise Chart, patients must be enrolled in it. When you enable Enterprise Chart, all existing patients are automatically enrolled. You also have the option to enroll all new patients by default going forward. If you do not select this option when you enable Enterprise Chart, you can later enroll patients individually. If you need to enroll all patients at one time after Enterprise Chart is on, contact NextGen Healthcare Client Support for assistance. Enterprise Chart

Enterprise Chart is an optional feature that enables all practices within an enterprise to share clinical data. Enterprise providers can view a patient's chart in multiple practices at the same time. Preferences and permissions can be set at the system and user level to view the clinical tasks and the Provider Approval Queue in the Workflow module across practices in the enterprise. Enterprise Chart is enabled in Enterprise Preferences in File Maintenance. CAUTION: Enterprise Chart cannot be turned off after it is enabled. If a specific practice should not share enterprise clinical data, you can set that practice up as a separate enterprise. View Patient Chart Access by Other Users

Your practice may enable you view a list of other users who are currently accessing the same patient's chart in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To use this feature, the Warn on Multi Edit check box must be selected on the NextGen® Enterprise EHR list of Practice Preferences in File Maintenance. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the File Maintenance Preferences Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Main menu, select View and then Patient Access. The Patient Chart Access window appears. This window also appears for the other users who are viewing the patient's chart. The title bar displays the name of the selected patient. The window lists the name of each user who is accessing the chart and identifies the user's workstation, date and time of access, and phone number. After reviewing the information, select Close. Before you begin As a NextGen® Enterprise EHR user, you must have: Permissions assigned in all of the practices where images may exist for the patient. Access to the document types in the practices. When the Enterprise Chart feature is not turned on, NextGen® Enterprise EHR users can only view the NextGen® Document Management images that are maintained for the same practice. However, by turning on Enterprise Chart, the users can view NextGen® Document Management images that are maintained in any of the practices within the enterprise. Open File Maintenance. In Master Files, select System > Enterprises. In the Enterprises List window, double-click the enterprise from the list. In the Modify Enterprise Information window, select Preferences. The General tab opens in the Enterprise Preferences window. Select the Enterprise Chart checkbox. A message appears to confirm that you want to set the option. Note: After you select the Enterprise Chart checkbox, you cannot turn it off. Select Yes.
