Keeping Your Immunizations Registries Up-to-Date

When an Immunizations order is created and saved, the system sends this order information to the patient’s Immunization record in the selected registry. If you update the administered Immunizations order, such as deleting an Immunizations order or adding a new immunization to an order, the system updates these changes in the appropriate registry. This task ensures that your registry stays up-to-date and meets Meaningful Use requirements. The system updates or changes an Immunizations order that has already been sent to the registry when you perform any of the following actions: Add, cancel, or delete an Immunizations order. Add, cancel, or delete a vaccine in an Immunizations order. Update an Immunizations order’s vaccine or clinical information. Mark an Immunizations order as Entered in Error. After you have administered immunizations, you may need to update or delete Immunization orders. Add Comments for a New Immunizations Order

You can add comments to new Immunizations order when selecting vaccines or administering an Immunizations order. When creating the Immunization order (on the Select Vaccines tab or the Vaccine Details tab), select the Tracking tab. The tracking comments tab opens. To add a comment, select Add. The Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens. Select the comment type (Sign-off or Tracking) and enter your comments. If you have created My Phrases, select My Phrases to select a phrase from the list. To save your comments, select Save or Save & Task to send the comments to the appropriate user or group. Add or View Comments to an Existing Immunizations Order

You can add comments to existing Immunizations order by accessing the Orders module Orders Summary tab. Select an Immunizations order from the Orders Summary tab. Do one of the following: Select Tracking from the toolbar. Right-click an Immunizations order, and select Tracking from the list. The Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens. Any previous comments dispalys in the window. To add comments, select Add. Select the comment type (Sign-off or Tracking). If you have created My Phrases, select My Phrases to select a phrase from the list. To save your comments, select Save or Save & Task to send the comments to the appropriate user or group. View or Add Comments from the Orders Summary Tab

You can view and add comments from the Orders Summary tab in the following ways: If comments exist for an order, the Orders Tracking Comments indicator displays next to the order on the Orders Summary tab. To add or view order comments, select the Orders comments tracking indicator next to the selected order and the Sign-off and Orders Tracking section displays the previous comments. To add comments, select Add and continue with step 2 in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. If an order has no comments, the Orders comments tracking indicator does not display next to the order on the grid. To add comments, select Add and continue with step 2 in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. You can also add comments for an order or view existing comments for an order by selecting the Tracking tab on the Orders Summary tab. Follow the steps in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. Automatic Order Tracking Comments

Your practice can select the Automatic Order Tracking Comments practice preference to display system-generated comments in the Sign-off and Tracking Comments window for various Orders and Immunizations actions. For example, the system can display comments when an order is sent successfully through an interface, registry, or exported to Patient Portal.
