Add or View Comments to an Existing Immunizations Order

You can add comments to existing Immunizations order by accessing the Orders module Orders Summary tab. Select an Immunizations order from the Orders Summary tab. Do one of the following: Select Tracking from the toolbar. Right-click an Immunizations order, and select Tracking from the list. The Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens. Any previous comments dispalys in the window. To add comments, select Add. Select the comment type (Sign-off or Tracking). If you have created My Phrases, select My Phrases to select a phrase from the list. To save your comments, select Save or Save & Task to send the comments to the appropriate user or group. Adding and Tracking Comments for Immunizations Orders

You can add and track comments for orders throughout the Immunizations order process. Note: After an Immunization within an order is signed-off by selecting Sign-off from the Immunization or Order Summary tab, you cannot add any additional Sign-off comments. The Sign-Off and Tracking Comments section on the Orders Summary tab displays a comment indicating which Immunizations have been Signed-off. You can, however, add tracking comments by accessing the Sign-off and Tracking Comments window. Add Comments to a New Order

Select the Tracking tab on the Create New ( Lab or Radiology) Order window. The Tracking window opens for the lab or radiology order. Select Add. The Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens. Select Tracking as the comment Type. Enter a comment regarding the order. If applicable, select My Phrases to select an appropriate phrase. Do one of the following: To simply save the comments, select Save. If you add comments that require another user or group to perform a task, select Save & Task and select the recipient. Automatic Order Tracking Comments

Your practice can select the Automatic Order Tracking Comments practice preference to display system-generated comments in the Sign-off and Tracking Comments window for various Orders and Immunizations actions. For example, the system can display comments when an order is sent successfully through an interface, registry, or exported to Patient Portal. Sign Off Immunizations Orders

Supervising physicians and other authorized users can sign off completed or Pending Immunization orders. Select an immunizations order from the Orders Summary tab or the Immunizations Chart view. Do one of the following: Select Sign-off from the toolbar. Right-click an Immunizations order, and select Sign-off from the list. The Sign-off Vaccines for Order window opens. Note: All immunizations are selected by default. Select the appropriate Immunizations order and add your comments. To include your comment for all the selected immunizations, select Apply Comments To All. To sign off the Immunizations and save your comments, select Sign-off. On the Orders Summary tab, the Sign-off date and Sign-off person displays. The system updates the NextGen Status column to Signed-off. Note: If a user attempts to sign off an order that is already signed off, the order displays in read-only mode in the Sign-off Vaccines for Order window. Parent topic: Administering Immunizations

Add an Immunization to an Administered Immunizations Order

Open the Orders module and select the Orders Summary tab. To add a new Immunizations to an existing order, right-click the immunizations order and select Update or double-click the immunizations order. The Vaccine Details tab appears. Select the Select Vaccines tab, select the appropriate vaccine from the list, or select a search option. For example, a patient also received a Hep B immunization during the visit and the immunization needs to be added to the original Immunizations order. The system adds the selected vaccine to the Assign Diagnosis to Selected Vaccines section. Select the Vaccine Details tab. Select the new Immunizations order from the list of vaccines to administer, for example, Hep B. Select the Registry from the list, if necessary. Select the Lot Number or enter the number manually and any other vaccine or clinical information, as required. Select the appropriate Save option. The system adds the Immunization, updates the status to Administered, and updates the registry
