Add a Person or Patient Photo
You can add a photo to the demographic record for a person or patient.
Note:
Color photos scanned using the Black and White setting are distorted. Use the Gray Scale setting to maintain the quality of the image.
Open the
Person Information
or
Patient Information
window for the desired person or patient.
Right-click the picture field, and do one of the following:
Select
New
to scan a new photograph. If no images have been scanned, only
New
is selectable.
Select
Open
to edit the picture currently stored.
The
Scanning Device Input
window opens.
Place the patient's driver's license or ID Card in the scanner and adjust the scan guide so that it fits the original.
Select the open menu
, and select
Acquire
.
When the scanner has finished scanning, the image appears on the window.
Select the following options to help you adjust the scanned image:
Use the
keys to rotate the card, if necessary, so that it appears upright.
You can
Crop
the image to get only the detail needed.
Use the
Copy/Paste
option to move the image into other files, if needed.
Use the
AutoScan Mode
to start the scanning process as soon as you open this window.
Use the
Show Scanner Interface
option to display the scanner's options box, which enables you to manipulate the image you are scanning.
Use the
Brightness/Contrast
options to change and improve the appearance of the image.
The image in the
Selected Segment
box appears on the
Demographics
tab.
The image in the
Selected Segment
box appears on the
Demographics
tab.
If this image needs to be replaced, right-click in the
Selected Segment
, and choose
Delete
.

Add General Information for Persons or Patients
You must add the person or patient's general identification information, such as the first and last name, social security number, birth date, sexual profile, and preferred pronoun. General information for a patient or person appears as a header on every tab of the patient or person information windows. Open NextGen® Enterprise. Open the People Lookup window, and then select New. The Add Person Information window opens. Select a Prefix preferred by the person or patient. Mr, Mrs, or Reverend. Enter the Last name and First name for the person or patient. Both are required fields. Select the Previous Last link and then enter the previous last name of the person or patient. Select the Previous First link and then enter the previous first name of the person or patient. Enter the person or patient's Middle name. Select the preferred Suffix, additional information after the person or patient's last name. Enter the Preferred Name that the person or patient wants to be addressed by. Enter the S

Add a Photo for a Patient or Other Person
You can add a photo to the demographic record for a patient or other person. Note: Color photos scanned using the black and white setting are distorted. Use the greyscale setting to maintain the quality of the image. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Lookup. In the People Lookup window, select New. In the Add Person Information window, right-click the photo field, and then select either New for a new scan or Open for an existing photo. In the Scanning Device Input window, place the ID card in the scanner and adjust the scan guide. Select the open menu icon, and then select Acquire. When the scanner has finished scanning, the image appears in the window. Optional: Rotate, crop, or adjust the brightness and contrast as needed. You can use the scanner's interface for more options. Add Patient Photos to Charts
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup Chart Lookup icon. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. In the Chart Details tab, under Patient Picture, select open menu Open Menu icon and then select New to scan a new photograph, or Open to edit the current photograph. In the Update Patient Information window, right-click the square photograph area in the upper left, and then select Open or New.
