Select Event Tracking with Advanced Auditing

Advanced auditing tracks the events across all NextGen® Enterprise applications. You can access the setup for Advance Auditing in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, NextGen® Document Management, and System Administrator. Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Admin, and then select Advanced Audit Setup.The Advanced Audit Setup window opens with the Events Setup tab displaying the current enterprise name. Advanced Audit Setup window Select which events to track by doing one of the following: To track all events within an enterprise, select the enterprise name checkbox. To track all events within a practice, expand the enterprise name, and then select the practice name checkbox. Create an EOB Document Type

File Maintenance includes an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) document type template that you can apply when you create a document type for EOB batches in NextGen® Document Management. The template automatically assigns EOB-related fields to the document type. Note: To use EOB filing with NextGen® Enterprise PM, a document type with the NextGen EOB template assigned must exist. Open File Maintenance. In Master Files, select System or PM or Document Management, and then select Document Types.The Document Types List window opens. Select the open menu button, and then select New.The Document Type Information window opens. In Document Type Description, enter the name of the document type, making sure the name indicates it is an EOB document type. In Document Type Template, select NextGen EOB as the EOB template you want to apply.The Document Type Information window displays the list of EOB-related fields that comprise the template. The significant events are categorized as enterprise, practice, and system levels. The significant events log entry generates when you perform the following actions: Export a document Import a file Import a directory Automatically import a directory Append a page to a filed document You can view the Significant Event record by generating a Significant Events report in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Preferences > Significant Events. In System Administrator, select View > Significant Events. The Significant Event Information window opens displaying the list of significant events. Select the significant events related to NextGen® Document Management, and then select OK. You can view the history of NextGen® Document Management activity for a patient by: Accessing the patient's chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Generating the Significant Events report. Note: You can view the Document Exported event on the Doc Mgmt Sig Event report or right-click an image and select Image Properties. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the toolbar, select Chart, and then search for a patient.For information on searching for a patient, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Patient Demographics Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. Open the patient chart, and then select the Clinical History/Notes tab. Expand the History section, and then select Document Management.The Details section displays the list of significant events. Significant Events Preferences

The application tracks selected significant events for logging and auditing purposes. Selections made for significant events at the Enterprise level take effect across all practices. Selections for events at the Practice level must be made for each practice. All significant events are enabled by default. Significant events can be viewed in NextGen® Enterprise PM in the Significant Events report and at the account, chart, and encounter levels. Activate Significant Events You can select and track the significant events through the Enterprise, System, or individual practices. Significant Events Security Rights You can control access to the Significant Events Preferences by modifying the users group security rights. Significant Events Reference List You can set up the significant events in NextGen® Enterprise PM and System Administrator. Add a Significant Events Message to the Significant Events Report You can add or remove messages that display in the message box of the sig events msg tab
