Annotate Documents and Images

In NextGen® Document Management image viewer, you can attach the following to documents and images without editing the actual content: Signifying arrows Text redaction bars Text highlighting Text-based annotations Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Search, and then search for the documents or images. The Matching Records grid displays the list of patients who are associated with images that match your search results. Double-click a patient record to open its associated images in the Search Results For: window, and then double-click the image you want to view. The NextGen® Document Management viewer displays the image. On the image viewer toolbar, select the annotation icon.You can select the annotation color, font, and font size in the User Preferences window. The annotation toolbox opens. Sign Documents Electronically

Before you begin You must select the Single click signature option and set up signature preferences in the User Preferences window. After a document is filed, you can add an electronic signature to it. The application uses the name of the logged on user for the signature and the date and time in NextGen® Document Management. Note: After you add a provider signature to a document, the signature cannot be removed. Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Search, and then search for the documents or images. The Matching Records grid displays the list of patients who are associated with images that match your search results. Double-click a patient record to open its associated images in the Search Results For: window, and then double-click the image you want to view. Edit Documents and Images

For documents and images, you can view image properties, rename images, adjust the viewer size, change their size, and rotate them. Note: The size of the open document is based on the configurations selected in the User Preferences window. Open NextGen® Document Management. Send Documents and Images to NextGen® PxP Portal

Before you begin You must do the following: Complete enrollment in NextGen® PxP Portal. Add the NextGen® Document Management image to a patient's chart. Set up image rights in System Administrator. Configure document types and sending annotations with images in File Maintenance. In NextGen® Document Management, you can send documents and images to NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: You cannot send documents larger than 15 MB. However, you can set the size limit for sending documents to NextGen® PxP Portal in System Administrator. For more information on System Administrator, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. Open NextGen® Document Management. NextGen® Document Management Image Viewer Options

The image viewer toolbar includes buttons that you can use to manipulate a document or image. The following table describes the functionality of image viewer toolbar buttons. Rearrange Document Pages

Before you begin You must do the following: Select the Delete Pages operation right in System Administrator. Set up the hard delete feature in File Maintenance. On the NextGen® Document Management image viewer, you can rearrange the document pages, and hide a document page and an image without deleting it from the document. You can also copy a page from one document to another document. To rearrange the document pages from the image viewer, right-click the document, and then select Move > Page To. In Move Page To, enter the page number you want to move to, and then select OK. To hide a page, from the image viewer toolbar, move to the document page or image that you want to hide, and then select the hide icon. You can also right-click and select Show Hidden Pages to show the hidden pages or images in the document.
