Add a Treating Assessment

On the Subjective template, General panel, Treating Assessment section, click Add. The PT Treating Assessment template opens. PT Treating Assessment Do one of the following: Click the Add Common Assessment link, click an appropriate assessment link, select a description from the resulting list, and then click OK. Edit a Treating Assessment

On the Subjective template, General panel, Treating Assessments section, select the assessment in the grid to be updated. Click Edit to launch the PT Treating Assessment template. Select the item to be updated in the Treating assessment grid. Make any updates or changes as needed. Click Update and then click Save & Close. Parent topic: Treating Assessments

Assessments Panel

Encounter Diagnoses and Treating Assessments can be reviewed and updated on the Assessments panel on the PT Finalize template. The Assessments panel functions the same way as the Diagnosis panel on the Home Page and the Treatment Log templates. The Encounter Diagnoses grid displays current encounter diagnoses. The Treating Assessment grid may contain the same diagnoses as the Encounter Diagnoses grid or they may be different. Add New Diagnoses from the Common Assessment Template

The Diagnosis grid displays the patient’s diagnoses. The grid defaults to Orthopedic to show Orthopedic-specific diagnoses. The Medical options displays other clinical diagnoses. Click Add under the grid to launch the Common Assessment template. Select a diagnosis to add to the patient’s history. Click Save & Close. Select an Ordering Diagnosis as a Treating Diagnosis

When a patient comes to you for therapy, they may have one or more ordering diagnoses already added. Based on your assessment, you determine the treating diagnoses to support the patient’s need for therapy. You can select from the existing ordering diagnoses or select additional ones that better reflect the specific diagnoses related to therapy treatment. Expand the Assessment panel. Ordering Dx lists the diagnoses that were added on the NTS Homepage template. Under Ordering Dx, review the ordering diagnoses to determine which ones should be included as treating diagnoses. Select an ordering diagnosis, and then select the right arrow to move it to the Treating Dx list. Treating Dx displays the diagnosis. The diagnosis remains visible in the Ordering Dx list. Add a Treating Diagnosis

As you review the ordering diagnoses for a therapy patient, the diagnosis you want to apply may not be listed. If the ordering diagnoses do not meet therapy treatment needs, you can add a different treating diagnosis. Note: You can also add treating diagnoses by using Problem Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO). If your practice is licensed for IMO, select the Problem IT button under the grid to open IMO to add assessments. Follow the documentation provided by IMO documentation to use IMO to add assessments. Under Treating Dx, select Add. The Inf Common Assessment window opens. Inf Common Assessment window Select the Common Assessments field to select the diagnosis codes page you want to use, and then select OK. The selected page opens. Headers and categories are in bold font. Items showing a code pull directly to the history. Items with a plus sign open picklists to select a more specific diagnosis code.
