Add Test Code Data Set Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, click Data Set and select Test Codes. The existing data set items associated with the Test Codes data set appear in the grid. Test Codes data set Click Add. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens. Template Data Sets Setup Click Test and select a name that the code or description will be mapped to from the picklist. The picklist displays the list of all test names currently available in the system. The name is used by the practice to identify an order, patient procedure, or lab. Click OK. Note: To enter a test name that is not listed, select the blank line that displays in the picklist and click OK. Type the name in the Test field. Enter one of the following: Codes - Enter the code to be mapped to. The entered code is used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location to identify the test at their location for ordering or billing purposes. Test Code Data Sets

Each item in the Test Codes data set maps a code or description to a test item. Mapping enables you to assign a more commonly used description or code to a test. More than one mapping can be configured for a test. In the following example, we examine an ECG procedure and how the Test Codes data set works in the NextGen® Enterprise. The following is a list of the test descriptions or test codes that are mapped to the test ECG: Electrocardiogram ECG Computer Analysis Only EKG ECG 93000 93010 G04003 G0405 G8704 Each value represents one row in the Test Codes data set. If the Test Code of ECG maps to the ECG test in the Protocols data set, the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine order_ table is used to verify the test status (in some cases, the system may also check the Procedures module). If the Test Code of ECG maps to the ECG record in the Test Date data set, the Test Type of the Test Date record indicates which database table to use to verify the test status. Edit Test Code Data Set Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, click Data Set and select Test Codes. The existing data set items associated with the Test Codes data set appear in the grid. Highlight a grid to modify. Data Sets Setup Practice Template

The Data Sets Setup practice template stores codes and text descriptions for specific tests. The test name must match the Test Name value from the Test Dates data set on the practice template. The DHPI Test Codes data set on Data Sets Setup enables you to apply synonyms for test results on the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates. The synonyms represent descriptions or codes that map to a single test or procedure. The synonyms are used to reference the test in the Protocol data set or the Test Name in the Test Date data set. The DHPI Test Code data set grid includes the following columns: Test name - used by the practice to identify an order for a diagnostic, patient procedure, or lab Codes - the code used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location to identify the test at their location for ordering or billing purposes Description - the description for the test used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location Add a New DHPI Test Code to a Data Set Test

Map the Test or Code Information on the Data Sets Setup Practice Template

You can map the test or code information using the Data Sets Setup practice template. Practices using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.3.x and later, can map test codes and description to guidelines using the Test Codes data set on the Data Sets Setup practice template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Data Sets Setup and then select OK .The Data Sets Setup practice template opens. Select the Data Set field and select Test Codes from the DB list. Data Sets Setup Select the Test column to sort the list by Test Name, and then review the existing mappings for the guideline. Select the Add button.The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens. Template Data Sets Select in the Test field to open the Data Sets DB picklist. After you have acquired the codes and descriptions for each guideline, they need to be added as mappings to the care guidelines setup for the practice.
