Add a New DHPI Test Code to a Data Set

The DHPI Test Codes data set on Data Sets Setup practice template enables you to apply synonyms for the code or description of tests that are used on dynamic HPI templates. In NextGen® Enterprise, from the File menu, click the System/Practice Template. The Select Template window appears. Click the Practice tab and under Show, click All. Double-click Data Sets Setup to open the practice template. In the Data Set field, click to select DHPI Test Codes from the list. The codes and descriptions associated with the DHPI Test Codes data set appear in the grid. Click Add. The Template Data Sets Setup - [New Record] template appears. Click Test. A list with all the test names currently available in the system appears. Do one of the following: Select a name from the list, and then click OK. Select the blank line near the top of the list to enter a new value, and then click OK to type the name in the Test field. Enter either the Code or Description. Data Sets Setup Practice Template

The Data Sets Setup practice template stores codes and text descriptions for specific tests. The test name must match the Test Name value from the Test Dates data set on the practice template. The DHPI Test Codes data set on Data Sets Setup enables you to apply synonyms for test results on the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates. The synonyms represent descriptions or codes that map to a single test or procedure. The synonyms are used to reference the test in the Protocol data set or the Test Name in the Test Date data set. The DHPI Test Code data set grid includes the following columns: Test name - used by the practice to identify an order for a diagnostic, patient procedure, or lab Codes - the code used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location to identify the test at their location for ordering or billing purposes Description - the description for the test used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location Add a New DHPI Test Code to a Data Set Test

Test the DHPI Test Codes in Care Guidelines

On the Intake template, set the Specialty to Family Practice and the Visit Type to Office Visit. Click the Care Guidelines link to open the Care Guidelines template. Click Add/Update in the Care Guidelines section. The Activate Care Guidelines template appears. Click the Condition field and select a value from the corresponding list. Select Hypertension. Click the Diagnosis field to select any value, click Add and then click Save & Close. On the Care Guidelines template, notice that there are several orders in the grid marked as due, including the ECG order. Click OK. On the Intake tab, click the Procedures sub-navigational link. In the Other section, click EKG. Select the Normal tracing check box at the top of the EKG Interpretation template. At the bottom of the template, click the Assessment field to select any value, and then enter a Status. Click the Submit to Superbill button. A Charges Submitted check box appears. Map the Test or Code Information on the Data Sets Setup Practice Template

You can map the test or code information using the Data Sets Setup practice template. Practices using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.3.x and later, can map test codes and description to guidelines using the Test Codes data set on the Data Sets Setup practice template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Data Sets Setup and then select OK .The Data Sets Setup practice template opens. Select the Data Set field and select Test Codes from the DB list. Data Sets Setup Select the Test column to sort the list by Test Name, and then review the existing mappings for the guideline. Map Test or Code Information Submitted to the Procedures Module

You can map test code or code information submitted to the procedure module. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template > Practice tab > Show All > Data Sets Setup. Select the Data Set field and select Care Guidelines Procedure Module Codes from the DB picklist. Select the Test description column to sort the list by Guideline Name, and then review the existing mappings for the guideline. After verifying that the codes are not already present, select the Add button to open the Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template. Template Data Sets Select the Test description field to open the Data Set Item DB picklist. Select the name of the guideline to be mapped. If the guideline is not listed, select the top blank record, then enter the exact spelling of the guideline to be mapped. Enter the exact code for the guideline in the Procedure/SIM Code field. Mapping Procedure Module Codes in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.4.x and Later

You can map codes to data sets that are configured using the Data Sets Setup practice template. When mapping codes that are submitted to the Procedures module, it is important to note that these mappings are added in a completely separate data set from those for standard office procedure, lab, and diagnostic orders that are configured with the Test Codes data set on the Data Sets Setup practice template or on the Care Guidelines Setup practice template in the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel. Additionally, this functionality is only available in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.4.x series and later.
