Map the Test or Code Information on the Data Sets Setup Practice Template

You can map the test or code information using the Data Sets Setup practice template. Practices using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.3.x and later, can map test codes and description to guidelines using the Test Codes data set on the Data Sets Setup practice template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Data Sets Setup and then select OK .The Data Sets Setup practice template opens. Select the Data Set field and select Test Codes from the DB list. Data Sets Setup Select the Test column to sort the list by Test Name, and then review the existing mappings for the guideline. Practices can map test codes and descriptions to guidelines on the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel of the Care Guidelines Setup practice template. You can specify items as exact equivalents and make items orderable on the Care Guidelines Paged View and the Care Guidelines grid view templates. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Map Test or Code Information Submitted to the Procedures Module

You can map test code or code information submitted to the procedure module. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template > Practice tab > Show All > Data Sets Setup. Select the Data Set field and select Care Guidelines Procedure Module Codes from the DB picklist. Select the Test description column to sort the list by Guideline Name, and then review the existing mappings for the guideline. After verifying that the codes are not already present, select the Add button to open the Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template. Template Data Sets Select the Test description field to open the Data Set Item DB picklist. Select the name of the guideline to be mapped. If the guideline is not listed, select the top blank record, then enter the exact spelling of the guideline to be mapped. Enter the exact code for the guideline in the Procedure/SIM Code field. Obtaining Test or Code Information for Codes Submitted to the Procedures Module

You can view the test or code information for codes submitted to Procedures module to satisfy a care guideline. When you want guidelines to update based on the codes submitted to the Procedures module, such as visit CPT® codes or billing codes, it is important to note that not all guidelines are updated from the Procedures module alone, and this functionality can vary depending on the NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine version and guideline. For instance, vaccines can be partially billed, so immunizations are never updated from the Procedures module. Additionally, it may not be appropriate for guidelines to update solely on billed codes as these are typically not sufficient evidence that a particular test is resulted, nor they are as easily canceled or removed if billed in error or are no longer applicable. Set Up Tests and Orders to Update Care Guidelines

You can set up tests and orders to update care guidelines for a patient. A care guideline status is updated to completed when all of the following conditions are met: The ordering code (or description) is added to the guideline's list of Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions. The completed order type for the patient matches with the guideline type that is set. For example, lab guidelines will only update from lab orders. The order has both a valid Completed Date or Received Date along with a Completed or Results Received status. Mapping can be used to set up tests and orders to update guidelines, simplifying workflow in the process. These mapping procedures can be used by the care guidelines that comes shipped with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.3.x, 8.4.x and later.
