Mapping Procedure Module Codes in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.4.x and Later

You can map codes to data sets that are configured using the Data Sets Setup practice template. When mapping codes that are submitted to the Procedures module, it is important to note that these mappings are added in a completely separate data set from those for standard office procedure, lab, and diagnostic orders that are configured with the Test Codes data set on the Data Sets Setup practice template or on the Care Guidelines Setup practice template in the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel. Additionally, this functionality is only available in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.4.x series and later. Map the Test or Code Information on the Data Sets Setup Practice Template

You can map the test or code information using the Data Sets Setup practice template. Practices using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.3.x and later, can map test codes and description to guidelines using the Test Codes data set on the Data Sets Setup practice template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Data Sets Setup and then select OK .The Data Sets Setup practice template opens. Select the Data Set field and select Test Codes from the DB list. Data Sets Setup Select the Test column to sort the list by Test Name, and then review the existing mappings for the guideline. Select the Add button.The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens. Template Data Sets Select in the Test field to open the Data Sets DB picklist. You can map the test or code information using the Care Guidelines Setup practice template. Practices can map test codes and descriptions to guidelines on the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel of the Care Guidelines Setup practice template. You can specify items as exact equivalents and make items orderable on the Care Guidelines Paged View and the Care Guidelines grid view templates. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel. Select the test name to be mapped from the list. You can map the test or code information using the Care Guidelines Setup practice template. After you have acquired the codes and descriptions for each guideline, they need to be added as mappings to the care guidelines setup for the practice. You can review the Intervention Equivalents on the Care Guidelines Setup practice template. You can review the Test Codes data set in the Data Sets Setup practice template. View File Maintenance Mappings for a Guideline Test

You can view the test code mappings for a guideline test patient on the Care Guideline Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel and select a guideline test from the Intervention/Test Name field. The File Maintenance Mappings grid refreshes and displays test code mappings to the test in NextGen test compendium. Add Test Code Data Set Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, click Data Set and select Test Codes. The existing data set items associated with the Test Codes data set appear in the grid. Test Codes data set Click Add. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens. Template Data Sets Setup Click Test and select a name that the code or description will be mapped to from the picklist. The picklist displays the list of all test names currently available in the system. The name is used by the practice to identify an order, patient procedure, or lab. Click OK. Note: To enter a test name that is not listed, select the blank line that displays in the picklist and click OK. Type the name in the Test field. Enter one of the following: Codes - Enter the code to be mapped to. The entered code is used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location to identify the test at their location for ordering or billing purposes. Description - Enter the text to describe the test. The entered text is the descriptio
