Add Test Code Data Set Items
- On the Data Sets Setup template, click Data Set and select Test Codes.
The existing data set items associated with the Test Codes data set appear in the grid.
- Click Add.
The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens.
- Click Test and select a name that the code or description will be mapped to from the picklist. The picklist displays the list of all test names currently available in the system. The name is used by the practice to identify an order, patient procedure, or lab. Click OK.
Note: To enter a test name that is not listed, select the blank line that displays in the picklist and click OK. Type the name in the Test field.
- Enter one of the following:
- Codes - Enter the code to be mapped to. The entered code is used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location to identify the test at their location for ordering or billing purposes.
- Description - Enter the text to describe the test. The entered text is the description for the test used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location.
CAUTION:Do not enter the code and description on the same record. You must have a separate record for the code and a separate record for the description. - Click Save, and then click Close.
The newly configured data set item displays in the Data Sets Setup template.Note: To add another item, click Clear For Add in the Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template and repeat steps 1 and 2.CAUTION:When creating a test code data set item, the value entered in Test must be mapped to only one item (that is, the description or the code used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location).
