Create Template Default Sets in Run Time

The Quick Save icon enables you to create template default sets in various locations throughout the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. This feature enables you to save selected data fields, check boxes, and options, under a unique template default set name. On any template with the Quick Save icon, populate the data fields and then select the check boxes and options to be included in the default set. Click the Quick Save icon.The Save Template Defaults template opens. The Default Set Category field populates based on the location of the Quick Save icon. The All Specialties option is selected by default to make the template default set available for all specialties. If you want this template default set to be available only for the current specialty, select the Current Specialty Only option. The Template to Save section enables you to select the templates to be included in the set. Manage Diagnoses for Quick Notes Panel

The ICD-9 codes associated with a Quick Note must be manually updated to their ICD-10 equivalent code. Use the Manage Diagnoses for Quick Notes panel to update template defaults in Quick Note from ICD-9 to ICD-10 codes and descriptions. Note: The Manage Diagnoses for Quick Notes panel is intended for one-time use only when the transition is made from ICD-9 to ICD-10. Access the Template Defaults Setup system template and expand the Manage Diagnoses for Quick Notes panel. Select a row in the grid. The data from the selected row appear in the corresponding fields below the grid. Click the ICD-10 Description field. The diagnosis search window opens. Search for and select the ICD-10 equivalent code. Click Update to save the new value. When all ICD-9 codes have assigned ICD-10 equivalents, in the upper-right corner of the Template Default Sets panel, select the code format (ICD-9 or ICD-10) and click the Activate button to update the grid. NTD Fields Panel

The NTD Fields panel enables you to designate fields that are either patient or encounter specific as non-template default fields (NTD) . Add a New Template Default Set

You can add a new default set on the Template Default Sets panel of the Template Defaults Setup system template. In the Currently Available Template Default Sets section on the Template Defaults Setup system template, right-click over the grid and select Add New. The Template Defaults Sets - [New Record] template opens. Click the Type field and select the appropriate default set type from the list. Refer to Types of Template Default Sets. Click the Category field to select an appropriate value from the DB picklist. In the Set Name field, enter a name for the template default set. Click the Specialties field and select only the specialties using this default set from the list of specialty abbreviations. Select all to enable all specialties to use this default set. Click Close to exit the list. Template Defaults Setup System Template

The Template Defaults Setup system template is the central location for managing and configuring template default sets. NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine (formerly NextGen KBM) is packaged with default sets that are used throughout the different specialties. The related Template Default Sets system template enables you to configure default sets that can later be applied to a template in run time. A default set includes specific values that populate the assigned data fields. Template default sets can also be created in run time using the Quick Save icon. To apply default values, open a template having one or more default sets, then select a default set to quickly populate the data fields with the values contained in the selected set. You can edit the values and make necessary changes in the applicable fields before saving or closing the template. Types of Template Default Sets

There are three different types of default sets that you can create and configure: Default Set Type Description/Use NORMAL Use the NORMAL set type to add normal or default values to certain physical exam types or review of systems. DB_PICKLIST Use the DB_PICKLIST set type to display default sets in a DB picklist. SAVED_TEMPLATES The SAVED_TEMPLATES set type is used with the Quick Save functionality in run time.
