Create Template Default Sets in Run Time

The Quick Save icon enables you to create template default sets in various locations throughout the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. This feature enables you to save selected data fields, check boxes, and options, under a unique template default set name. On any template with the Quick Save icon, populate the data fields and then select the check boxes and options to be included in the default set. Click the Quick Save icon.The Save Template Defaults template opens. The Default Set Category field populates based on the location of the Quick Save icon. The All Specialties option is selected by default to make the template default set available for all specialties. If you want this template default set to be available only for the current specialty, select the Current Specialty Only option. The Template to Save section enables you to select the templates to be included in the set. Template Default Sets Panel

The Template Default Sets panel is where you can create new default sets, copy an existing set, and delete sets, as needed. Default sets can be created for different clinical scenarios based on the patient characteristics such as age, sex, or diagnosis. Manage Diagnoses for Quick Notes Panel

The ICD-9 codes associated with a Quick Note must be manually updated to their ICD-10 equivalent code. Use the Manage Diagnoses for Quick Notes panel to update template defaults in Quick Note from ICD-9 to ICD-10 codes and descriptions. Note: The Manage Diagnoses for Quick Notes panel is intended for one-time use only when the transition is made from ICD-9 to ICD-10. Access the Template Defaults Setup system template and expand the Manage Diagnoses for Quick Notes panel. Select a row in the grid. The data from the selected row appear in the corresponding fields below the grid. Click the ICD-10 Description field. The diagnosis search window opens. Search for and select the ICD-10 equivalent code. Click Update to save the new value. When all ICD-9 codes have assigned ICD-10 equivalents, in the upper-right corner of the Template Default Sets panel, select the code format (ICD-9 or ICD-10) and click the Activate button to update the grid. Manage Provider Access

The Provider Access section displays the provider access information for the template default set selected in the grid under the Currently Available Template Default Sets section. The fields below the grid enable you to view or update the provider access settings. On the Template Default Setup system template, select a row from the grid in the Currently Available Template Default Sets section. The existing provider access settings associated with the selected set appear in the Provider Access grid. Click the Last Name field and select a provider last name from the list. The First Name and the Middle fields are automatically populated. To enable access for this provider only, click Add. To enable access to all providers for the current set, click Add ALL. Edit a Template Default Set

You can edit an existing template default set in the grid in the Currently Available Template Default Sets section. Note: A NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine upgrade overwrites any modifications to the original default sets that are packaged as a part of the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Before a template default set is modified, it is recommended that you create a copy of the existing set and make customizations to the new set. For more information on how to create a copy of the existing set, see Create a New Copy of an Existing Template Default Set Double-click a row in the grid in the Currently Available Template Default Sets section.
