Open the Telephone Communications Template

The Telephone Communication template enables you to document risk indicators such as tobacco use, hypertension, diabetes, and coronary artery disease. Open the Templates module. On the Medical Records tab, select the Show option of All. Scroll down to highlight Telephone Communication and click OK. The Telephone Communication template opens. Select a Specialty. The Visit Type is set to Patient Communication. Telephone Communication

NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine includes two telephone templates that enable you to view and document a telephone interaction between a practice and a patient or a patient's representative. Based on your preferences, you can document the communication details on either of the following templates: Telephone Call- Captures the reason for the call. Enables you to add comments and to generate tasks you can assign to another users' to-do list. Telephone Communication- Quick and comprehensive documentation of the telephone interactions, this template includes the NextGen® Enterprise EHR communication component to streamline the documentation process Note: There are minimum system requirements associated with the Telephone Communication template. Configuring Your Documentation Preferences

You can configure the system based on your practice preferences for documenting communications with the following options: Set the default communication template to open from the Template button, navigational tabs, and the sub-navigation links on the templates Generate the Telephone Communication document offline Display the link to view call histories documented prior to NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine version 7.4 Set the Default Telephone Template Configure the Telephone Communication Document to Generate Offline View the Call History Prior to v7.4 Link Parent topic: Telephone Communication

Managing the Telephone Call Template

You can record information gathered during a telephone conversation with the patient. You can open the Telephone Call template through the Call/communication link on the Home Page template. Telephone Call You can do the following on the Telephone Call template: Open the Patient Contact Info template to view the patient's contact information and document the patient's support relationships, and pharmacy details. Open the Patient Appointments template to add or view the patient's appointment with a provider. Open the Telephone Summary template to view a comprehensive communication history. Generate the telephone_communication document, which includes a written summary of the telephone call details in runtime. Open the Provider Communication template to document all the details concerning a communication by the provider. Send the telephone_communication document offline. Telephone Communication

You can view and document the communication between a practice and a patient or a patient's representative. Depending on your preference, you can view and document telephone interaction details on the Telephone Call or Telephone Communication template. With the Telephone Call template you can document the reason for a call, add additional comments, and create tasks to assign to a patient's task list. You can access the template from the Template module. Telephone Call With the Telephone Communication template, you can quickly document details of telephone interactions with patients. The template includes the communication component that works seamlessly with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to streamline the documentation process. The Communication panel of the Care Coordination Home Page enables you to view phone, email and other contacts that were recorded on the Telephone Call template for a patient.
