Ambulatory Surgery Home Page and Common Templates Ambulatory Surgery Home Page and Common Templates You can document the details of the procedure performed on the patient in the ASC using the framework template sets in the Ambulatory Surgery specialty. The Ambulatory Surgery specialty content enables documentation of procedure details performed on the patient in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The ASCs have patients referred by the primary care physicians to perform procedures related to a specific problem or an illness found through a diagnostic analysis. The Ambulatory Surgery specialty includes the following visit types: Procedure Preadmission Procedure Procedure Post Discharge Virtual Visit Telephone Virtual Visit Video Note: Virtual visits use the same template set as the Procedure Preadmission visit type. Access the Template Set Associated with the Procedure Preadmission Visit Type

The Procedure Preadmission visit type includes a framework template set that enables scheduler or clinical support staff to document the pre-admission details required prior to beginning a procedure. Note: Virtual visits use the same template set as the Procedure Preadmission visit type. The instructions provided for the Procedure Preadmission visit type in the following sections are also applicable for virtual visits. If you have not configured the Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template to open as the default template for a new encounter, perform the following steps to access the template set associated with the Procedure Preadmission visit type. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. In Show, click All. Select Home Page from the list o

Set Up Template Preferences

You can configure the default and preferred templates to automatically open the templates for an encounter. You can also configure the workflow after opening an encounter from the Workflow Appointment list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select Tools > Preferences. The Preferences window opens. Preferences window Select the Templates tab. To move a commonly used template in the preferred list, select the template in the Available Templates list and then select the right arrow. The selected template appears in the Preferred Templates list. To select all templates, select the double-right arrow. To set a default template, from the Default Template list, select a template. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends setting the Home Page (fts_home_page) template as a default template which provides a clinical summary of the patient to the provider. Access the Home Template

You can open the Home template to begin workflows on the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. If you set up the Home template as the default template in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR user preferences, it will automatically open as the first template for new workflow appointments. You can also manually open this template from the Patient History bar. Open the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application. Select the desired patient record. Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery Template

The Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template of the Procedure Preadmission visit type displays the data documented in the previous and/or current encounter by the scheduler or clinical support staff in the ASC - Scheduling Questions and ASC - Pre admission templates. This home page also displays the data documented by the provider and nurse in the framework template sets of the Procedure visit type, when the case ID of the encounters is same. Click the home icon on the navigational bar to access the Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template. The scheduler or clinical support staff can review the documented data by the provider and proceed with the workflow in the ASC- Scheduling Questions template or ASC - Pre admission template. Summary Panel on the Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery Template

The Summary panel displays the details documented by the scheduler, clinical support person, and provider in an encounter. The grid includes a list of categories in the left pane to select and view the documented data. The categories in the left pane can be added or deleted using the Framework Content system template. For more information on how to configure the categories in the left pane of the Summary panel, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Framework Content System Template forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine. Some of the categories include filters at the top of the grid, allowing you to filter and review the required data. The data in the grid is view-only, that is, you cannot edit or delete data from the grid. Summary To view or review the patient's medical chart summary, select the required link in the left pane.
