Open the Quick Task Setup

You can create a task using Quick Tasks. You can configure the recipients for your orders or tasks using the Practice Configuration practice template. Once configured, the task is automatically sent to the configured recipient at run time. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select the Practice tab. Under Show, select All. A list of practice templates appears. Select Practice Configuration, and select OK. The Practice Configuration template opens. To indicate that the Category field on the Quick Task Setup template, in the Quick task section, select the Require a Category to be entered when Quick Task settings are added or updated check box. Configuration Option in Quick Task

If you click the Launch Quick Task link, the Quick Task Setup template opens. The Quick Task Setup template allows you to configure the task recipient to automatically send the orders that are being placed in run time. Quick Task section The Require a Category to be entered when Quick Task setting are added or updated check box is selected by default. This indicates that the Category field on the Quick Task Setup template is a mandatory field. Note: If the task recipient is not configured in the Practice Configuration template, then the system opens the Quick Task Setup template when you click Quick Task on the ordering templates (for example, Add or Update Assessment, My Plan, Office Services, and so on) in run time. Configure Quick Tasks for Orders

You can configure the recipients for your orders or tasks in the Quick Task Setup template in the Practice Configuration template. After you complete the template configuration, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) automatically sends the tasks to the configured recipients at runtime. Managing Basic Configuration

Before you begin, you can configure some optional settings such as template preferences, template links, and so on. Optimizing basic settings can enhance work outcomes. NextGen Healthcare recommends that you configure the basic settings for ease of use NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Set Up Template Preferences You can configure the default and preferred templates to automatically open the templates for an encounter. You can also configure the workflow after opening an encounter from the Workflow Appointment list. Template Links You can use links to open frequently used templates. Navigation Bar On the navigation bar, you can find customizable links to open additional templates that may not be part of the main workflow. Configure Task Recipient

On the Practice Configuration template, scroll to the Quick Task section. Click the Launch Quick Task link. The Quick Tasks Setup template opens. If applicable, click User Name and select the applicable provider to associate with the tasking configuration. Click Source template and select a template from the list. Click Task To and select any of the following task types: Individual Group By default, the Priority field value is set to Normal. If applicable, click Priority and select the priority of the task. If applicable, select the Allow to override check box to modify the priority in run time. Set Up Quick Tasks

You can set up Quick Tasks for the first time. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. In the Orders panel, select the Standing Orders link. The Office Services template opens. On the Office Services template, select Quick Task. The Quick Task Setup template opens, and displays Office Services as the source template. Quick Task Setup template From the Task To list, select Individual or Group. From the Recipient list, select individual or group to receive the task. Enter the following information: Select a subject from the Subject list or enter manually. Select a category from the Category list or enter manually. Select the All or Specific option for the location. If you select Specific, then select the location from the list. Note: You can select the location if you select the Specific option.
