Configure Quick Tasks for Orders
You can configure the recipients for your orders or tasks in the Quick Task Setup template in the Practice Configuration template. After you complete the template configuration, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) automatically sends the tasks to the configured recipients at runtime.

- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- Select File > System / Practice Template.
The Select Template window opens.
- Select the Practice tab.
- In Show, select the All option.
- From the templates list, select Practice Configuration, and then select OK.
The Practice Configuration template opens.
- On the Quick Task row, select the Require a Category to be entered when Quick Task settings are added or updated check box.
Note: This indicates that the Category box on the Quick Task Setup template is mandatory.
- Select the Launch Quick Task link.
The Quick Task Setup template opens.Note: The boxes marked with asterisk (*) are mandatory.
- To fill the details in the Quick Task Setup template, do the following:
- Select User Name and select the provider to associate with the tasking configuration.
Note: User Name displays the currently logged-on user.
- Select Source template and select one of the following templates from the list.
- CPOE Diagnostic
- CPOE Immunizations
- CPOE Laboratory
- Select Task To and select one of the following task types.
- Individual
- Group
- To set the Priority for the task, select one of the following:
- High
- Low
- Normal
Note: The default Priority is set to Normal. - To modify the priority at runtime, select the Allow override check box.
Note: Allow override enables you to open the Quick Task Priority template at runtime when you select Quick Task from the Source template.
- Select Recipient and select the task recipient from the list.
Note: After you select the task recipient, Add becomes active.
- Select Subject and select the task's subject as it must appear in the recipient's inbox.
- In Description, enter a brief note on the task to display at the runtime Task Details template.
- Select Category and select the applicable category from the list.
If you select the Require a Category to be entered when Quick Task setting are added or updated check box on the Practice Configuration template, you must select the category to configure and save the quick task settings.Note: If the recipient's inbox setup defaults to a category, you must select the category on the Quick Task Setup template so that the task appears in the recipient's inbox under the selected category.
- Select Add.
- To return to the Practice Configuration template, select Save & Close.
- Select User Name and select the provider to associate with the tasking configuration.
- Select Save and Close.
