Configure Quick Tasks for Orders

You can configure the recipients for your orders or tasks in the Quick Task Setup template in the Practice Configuration template. After you complete the template configuration, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) automatically sends the tasks to the configured recipients at runtime. Note: For more information on practice templates, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Practice Configuration Template User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System / Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select the Practice tab. In Show, select the All option. From the templates list, select Practice Configuration, and then select OK. The Practice Configuration template opens. On the Quick Task row, select the Require a Category to be entered when Quick Task settings are added or updated check box. Open the Quick Task Setup

You can create a task using Quick Tasks. You can configure the recipients for your orders or tasks using the Practice Configuration practice template. Once configured, the task is automatically sent to the configured recipient at run time. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. Select the Practice tab. Under Show, select All. A list of practice templates appears. Select Practice Configuration, and select OK.The Practice Configuration template opens. Configure Task Recipient

You can configure task recipient using the Quick Tasks Setup template. On the Practice Configuration template, scroll to the Quick Task section. Select the Launch Quick Task link.The Quick Tasks Setup template opens. Quick Tasks Setup template Note: The fields marked with asterisk (*) are mandatory to document. In the Quick Tasks Setup template: The User Name field appears with the current user logged on to the system. If applicable, select User Name and select the applicable provider to associate with the tasking configuration. Select Source template and select a template from the list. Select Task To and then select either Individual or Group task type.By default, the Priority field value is set to Normal. If applicable, select Priorityand select the priority of the task. If applicable, select the Allow to overridecheckbox to modify the priority in runtime. Before you begin Ensure that you have configured user privileges in System Administrator. Ensure that you have configured the recipients list in Quick Task setup. You can use Quick Task Setup template to create a task for an order type and associate it with a recipient work group. Whenever you place an order for that specific order type, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) automatically fills the recipient details in your order task. You can manually change the task's recipient and subject, or even cancel the task before placing the order. Open CPOE. Select an order item. To view the details of the order based on the order type, select the Laboratory, Diagnostic, or Immunization tab. To cancel generating a task when placing the order, select Off. Configuration Option in Quick Task

The Quick Task Setup template allows you to configure the task recipient to automatically send the orders that are being placed in runtime. If you select the Launch Quick Task link, the Quick Task Setup template opens. This indicates that the Category field on the Quick Task Setup template is a mandatory field. Note: If the task recipient is not configured in the Practice Configuration template, then the system opens the Quick Task Setup template when you select Quick Task on the ordering templates (for example, Add or Update Assessment, My Plan, Office Services, and so on) in runtime.
