The procedure details documented in the Procedure panel appear in the Reason for Visit panel. If you select the procedure details in the grid, the dynamic HPI template displays to modify or add new details.
If you do not want to open the dynamic HPI from the procedure in the Reason for Visit grid, you need to select the Use configured HPI from manage custom links instead of DHPI check box on the Procedure Config practice template and then link a configured HPI to the procedure in the Manage Custom Links practice template.
In the Reason for Visit panel, if you select the Do not launch HPI check box and then select a reason, the system displays the selected reason in the grid without launching the HPI template.
If the required reason(s) is not available in the left pane of the Reason for Visit panel, then you can click the Additional/Manage link to select the appropriate reason from the Reason for Visit template. For instructions to add additional HPI, see Additional/Manage HPIs.
You can also use the Other field on the left pane to search and select a reason for visit. You can enter the first few letters of the chief complaint in the Other field and click the drop-down arrow. A list opens with the specialty-specific reasons for visit beginning with the letter(s) entered in the Other field. After you select a chief complaint from the list, the corresponding HPI template displays.
