Place an Order for Diagnostic Studies

You can place a diagnostic study order with Bypass Order Module Processing enabled. You can place a diagnostic study order from the Diagnostic Studies template. Note: If Bypass Order Module Processing is not in effect, the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link appears on the Diagnostic Studies template. After you place an order, you must select the Order Module Processing link to select the vendor and submit the order for processing. Open the Diagnostic Studies template. Diagnostic Studies template The patient’s insurance details and policy number appear if they are entered into the application. If a preferred vendor are configured in the File Maintenance application, the name appears. The Today’s Assessments grid displays a list of diagnoses selected in the Assessments tab. Add or Update Assessment Template

The Assessments link in the My Plan template enables you to open the Add or Update Assessment template. The Add or Update Assessment template enables you to add and update assessments. Add or Update Assessment Grids in Add or Update Assessment Template Open the Assessments Tab Patient's Treatment Plan The treatment plan for the patient can be documented on the My Plan or My Custom Plan template. Place a Lab Order with Bypass Orders Module Processing On

Click the Labs tab. The Lab Master template opens. Document An Assessment. If a preferred vendor does not appear or you want to change the vendor, select a vendor. To change the billing type, click the Billing Type field and select an option. The Billing Type field has been filled based on the selected vendor. The default billing type is Third Party; however, if the patient's insurance is not attached to the encounter, the default is Patient. To specify when to perform the test, select the timeframe or date. Select the order priority and the need to fast or call results. Click the Labs tab. The Lab Master template opens. Document an assessment. In the Perform section, click one of the following template links: Lab Master template Perform section with lab test links Chemistry Microbiology Other Tests Tumor Markers Office Labs Serology Urine Chemistries Hematology OB Labs Therapeutic Levels The template for the selected lab type opens. Note: These lab templates share the current working assessment. On the lab template, do the following: Verify or select an ordering assessment. Select the test(s). Click Save & Close. Click Place Order on the Lab Master template. Each test appears in the Order grid with a status of ordered, the ordered date, the name of the lab study, and the diagnosis. Select an ordered lab and then click the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link. Bypassing Orders Module Processing

If your practice has configured Bypass Order Module Processing on the My Custom Plan Setup template, you can avoid processing an order through the Orders module using the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. When you click Place Order, the application updates the item in all order grids on NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Framework templates. You can see orders that were placed on any of the lab templates that were opened from the Labs tab in the Pending Orders section.
