Obstetric Problems

In the Prenatal Detail template, you can use the OB Problems panel to do the following. View a patient’s active obstetric (OB) problems and the details of each problem. Add an OB problem to a patient record. Update the details of an OB problem. Review ordered and resulted lab and diagnostic orders and add obstetric problem notes. View a patient's previous pregnancy problems and move pertinent problems to the current pregnancy. View attached images and documents. Add Obstetric Problems You can add a patient's obstetric problems to the Problems module and also move a problem to today’s assessment. Update Obstetric Problems You can update a patient's obstetric problems in the OB Problem Add panel.. Access Lab and Diagnostic Review You must add an obstetric(OB) poblem to be able to view the Lab and Diagnostic Review link. Review Optional Orders

You can place orders for the tests in the Optional Orders panel during any time of pregnancy. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a female adult patient record, and then create an encounter. On the Intake template, and then select the specialty as Obstetrics and visit type as OB Prenatal. On the Prenatal Detail template, expand the Optional Orders panel. The associated lab orders appear in the grid. Optional Orders Double-click the test name to place the order through Historical Test - Quick Entry template. To review a single lab order result, do the following: Select the row where the lab order result is available. The Edit Test Interval window opens. Select the Reviewed check box, and then select Save & Close. The reviewed check mark appears. To review all lab orders with results, select the Reviewed check box. The reviewed check mark appears for all orders with results. To update the order obtained interval date range, select the row and update the details on the Edit Test Interval w

Manage Orders Using Order Management

For more information on Order Management, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Getting Started User Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a female adult patient record, and then create an encounter. On the Intake template, and then select the specialty as Obstetrics and visit type as OB Prenatal. On the Prenatal Detail template, select Order Management. The Order Management window opens. Select the order to be updated, and then select Edit. The All Order Management window opens. Enter the details. In the Result/report section, select the Received or Completed check box. The Details button appears when the ordered test is configured and included in Manage Custom Links. Select Details. Enter the details in the Interpretation and Result details fields. Select Save, and then select Close. Document Information in the Assessment/Plan Panel

The Assessment/Plan panel enables you to enter an assessment, generate the prenatal record, enter a follow-up appointment if not already done on the OB flowsheet, document which hospital the prenatal record must be sent to, and task to send the prenatal record to the hospital. The Prenatal Record button generates the cumulative Obstetric document for the pregnancy to date. At the first visit, it is important to generate the Prenatal Record to review all of the information for completeness and accuracy. After reviewing the Prenatal Record, the provider may note data that was not entered or view information that must be entered in the Problem/Detail list for easy viewing at subsequent visits. Select the Prenatal Detail tab Select the Assessment/Plan tab. Assessment/Plan panel To add an assessment, select Add/Update. Document Information in the General Panel

Expand the General panel. General panel The Last Weight and the Total pregnancy weight gain (lb) fields is automatically filled in future visits based on the data entered in the previous templates. The questions that are answered on the Histories template displays here. In the EGA Calculator (for future estimating) section, select the As of field and select a date. The EGA on that day displays in the EGA will be field. Select the EGA of field and select the desired gestational age on the OB GA Selector template. Open Diagnostic Details

Before you begin Ensure that a diagnosis is available in the Today's Assessment grid. Select the Prenatal Detail tab In the Diagnostics Studies panel, select Add. The OB Diagnostics template opens. In the Today's Assessment grid, select a diagnosis. In the Orders section, select the Diagnostic study field and select a diagnostic study. The selected diagnostic study and the code appears. The Diagnostic Details link appears in the Result details section. Select the Diagnostic Details link. The Diagnostic Details template opens. Diagnostic Details Document Diagnostic Details You can add exam type, estimated gestational age (EGA), estimated fetal weight, and preconfigured diagnostic details for a diagnostic order.
