Add Orders in the Order Management Template

Click the Order Management link to launch the Order Management template. The system selects the All Orders option by default to display all of the orders placed in the current encounter. If orders are not available in the grid, click Add to launch the My Plan template. Note: If you select the Launch My Custom Plan (ord_my_custom_plan) check box on the Practice Configuration practice template, then the My Custom Plan template launches. Orders Panel

The Orders panel includes the ability to view, process, manage, add, edit, remove, and/or place a follow-up order. It also includes links to the process lab and radiology orders, open Order Management template, open Immunizations template, access standing orders in Office Services template, document about the patient education provided to patients, and create tasks in the To Do template, respectively. Orders The View of All Orders link is selected by default. The other options to view include Labs, Diagnostics, Office Services, Immunizations Today, Surgical Procedures, Referrals, and Patient Education. Note: Although the Intake template contains the ability to document orders, the provider usually documents orders from the SOAP template. Update Radiology and Lab Orders in the Orders Worklog

You can update the details of radiology and lab orders placed from any location of your practice. To open the Orders Worklog system template, do one of the following: Select File > System \ Practice Template, and then select Orders Worklog from the Select Template window. From the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders > Single Order to open the Single Order template, and then select the Orders Worklog link. Optional: Filter the orders in the grid by location and other options. Note: All categories of orders placed from the selected location appear in the Orders Worklog template, except those with the Completed, Performed, and Cancelled statuses. To update a radiology or lab order, select the order from the grid, and then select Edit. Note: The Edit button becomes available only if you select a radiology or lab order. Recent Orders

You can view the orders for the patient using Recent Orders panel. The Recent Orders panel is where you can view and follow orders for the patient. The Recent Orders panel grid is a viewable grid only – you cannot take any action for items that appear in the grid. The panel has links to other templates used to follow and manage orders. Creating Orders

You can create lab and radiology orders from the Orders Summary tab in the Orders module. Lab and radiology orders can also be created in the following ways: If you are using the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, you can place orders from the applicable templates. You can access these orders from the templates or from the Orders module. An order for a patient can be created as part of a bulk order from the NextGen Care® Population Management Hub. You can view unfinished orders for a single patient from NextGen Care® Population Management Hub from the Orders Summary tab. You can view unfinished orders for all patients across the practice using the Unfinished filter in the Orders Management order control in a custom Practice template. Manage Orders for All Patients across a Practice

To process multiple patients within your practice, you can create an Orders Management Controls practice template in Template Editor. You can then access this template in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR as a Practice Template to view, manage, or send orders for multiple patients in their practice. This information is drawn from the Orders module. The orders listed and the data displayed on each order line are based on the selected predefined system or private user or practice-level filter. The first column displays an icon that identifies the order type (lab, radiology, or immunizations). Icons that identify recurring and future orders display in the second column. You can select the icon to view the order schedule. Practice filters may display other information. The Orders Management Control practice template top toolbar contains commands for the actions you can perform on each order.
