Telephone Communication

You can view and document the communication between a practice and a patient or a patient's representative. Depending on your preference, you can view and document telephone interaction details on the Telephone Call or Telephone Communication template. With the Telephone Call template you can document the reason for a call, add additional comments, and create tasks to assign to a patient's task list. You can access the template from the Template module. Telephone Call With the Telephone Communication template, you can quickly document details of telephone interactions with patients. The template includes the communication component that works seamlessly with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to streamline the documentation process. You can access this template from the Template module for all specialties. NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine ships with the Telephone Call template as the default. Open the Telephone Communication Template

You can open the Telephone Communication template to view the communication summary. Before you begin Using the Call/Communication link, if you want to open the Telephone Communication template by default, then you must select the Launch Telephone Communication check box in the Telephone Call/Communication section on the Practice Configuration template. Open the Telephone Call Template

You can open the Telephone Call template to record information gathered during a telephone conversation with the patient. Before you begin Using the Call/Communication link, if you want to open the Telephone Call template by default, then you must clear the Launch Telephone Communication check box at the practice level on the Practice Configuration template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Telephone Call template, do one of the following: On the Intake template, select the Call/Communication link. Open the Telephone Communications Template

The Telephone Communication template enables you to document risk indicators such as tobacco use, hypertension, diabetes, and coronary artery disease. Open the Templates module. On the Medical Records tab, select the Show option of All. Scroll down to highlight Telephone Communication and click OK. The Telephone Communication template opens. Select a Specialty. The Visit Type is set to Patient Communication. Telephone Communication

NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine includes two telephone templates that enable you to view and document a telephone interaction between a practice and a patient or a patient's representative. Based on your preferences, you can document the communication details on either of the following templates: Telephone Call- Captures the reason for the call. Enables you to add comments and to generate tasks you can assign to another users' to-do list. Telephone Communication- Quick and comprehensive documentation of the telephone interactions, this template includes the NextGen® Enterprise EHR communication component to streamline the documentation process Note: There are minimum system requirements associated with the Telephone Communication template. Add Communication Modes for Management Plans

You can add modes of communication for the patient management plan in the Management Plan Communication template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. In the Show section, select All. Select Management Plans, and then select OK.The Management Plans template opens. Select the values for Specialty and Visit Type, and then select a management plan in the grid. Manage Actions The Manage Actions grid expands displaying the management plan.
