OB Provider Workflow

The provider workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves reviewing the information documented by the intake staff and proceeding with the patient encounter by documenting information on the Prenatal Detail and SOAP templates. On the first visit, open the Gestational Age template must be opened and verify the due date. Reviewing Obstetrics Details by Providers A provider can start the visit by reviewing the patient information documented during the previous patient encounters on the Home Page template for the Obstetrics specialty. Documenting Obstetrics Visits Encounters

The Obstetrics User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine is intended for Obstetrics medical professionals, such as providers, nurses, and front office staff, responsible for documenting and processing patient information. You can use the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates to document encounters on the OB Prenatal- Initial and OB Postpartum visit encounters. When you select the OB Prenatal – Initial visit type, the following navigation tabs display: Intake Gestational Age Histories Education Prenatal Detail SOAP Checkout Note: The above navigation tabs also display during nurse visits and subsequent prenatal visits. However, the Office Visit – OB, Virtual Visit Telephone, and Virtual Visit Video visit types display all the above navigation tabs except Gestational Age; the Chart Abstraction, Chart Update - OB, No-Show, and Consult visit types display all the above navigation tabs except Checkout.
