Screening Questions

You can use the Screening Questions panel to view and document patient condition. The Screening Questions panel enables you to view and document patient responses to screening questions associated with a specific condition or disease. When you first open the Care Guidelines grid view template and expand the Screening Questions panel, it appears blank. Questions do not appear until you select a guideline listed in Outstanding Guidelines. Note: A guideline must have screening questions configured in order to have screening questions display. Not all guidelines have screening questions configured, for example, health maintenance. View Metrics Flowsheet

Metrics flowsheet appear in the Metrics panel when you select a condition listed on the Care Guidelines template. To display conditions for care guidelines that are activated for the patient, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Select a condition listed in the left side pane in Outstanding guidelines. Metrics corresponding to the conditions selected appear in the panel in flowsheet format. Metrics Parent topic: Metrics

Metrics

You can view the metrics for a patient and can be configured using the Flowsheets Setup template. In the Metrics panel you can view metrics for a patient, lab and vital signs values, for up to 10 rows of data. Data appears in a flowsheet format, you can be configure it on the Flowsheets Setup practice template. The Metrics data grid is view-only. Flowsheets in the Metrics panel are configured on the Flowsheets Setup practice template. Default flowsheet is setup at the practice level and comes shipped with the system, and can be edited or added. You can also setup the flowsheets. Open the Flowsheets Setup Practice Template You can create a flowsheet setup or configure the existing flowsheet.

View Metrics Flowsheets on the Care Guidelines Template

Providers can view metrics for a patient such as lab and vital signs values, for up to 10 rows of data on the Care Guidelines template in the Metrics panel. Data is displayed in a flowsheet format that can be configured by practice or by provider on the Flowsheets Setup practice template. The Metrics grid is view-only and displays results from the Orders module. The Metrics grid also displays vital signs and vision screening. Metrics flowsheets are displayed on the Metrics panel when you select a condition listed in the blue left side pane of the Care Guidelines template. The conditions listed are those for which clinical guidelines have been activated for the patient. When you first open the Care Guidelines template and expand the Metrics panel, it appears blank. Care Guidelines Grid View

You can follow a disease or condition and health maintenance during a patient encounter on the Care Guidelines grid view template. The Care Guidelines grid view template displays only active guideline items that are due in a data grid in the Care Guidelines panel. Workflow on the Care Guidelines grid view template starts in the Care Guidelines panel. To use the care guidelines system with a patient, you have to activate a guideline. Then you can perform the tasks of reviewing and updating the status of individual guideline items in the Care Guidelines panel. Care Guidelines The activities include: Activate new or update current active care guidelines for the patient Document and update risk indicators for health maintenance Review, place orders, and update the status of guideline items Review and update diagnostic studies performed prior or elsewhere The Care Guidelines grid view template also provides access to additional information that providers may find helpful, such as screening

Access Metrics on Care Guidelines

Click the Care Guidelines link on any template to access the Care Guidelines template. On the Care Guidelines template, click a disease or condition guideline listed in the blue left side bar under Outstanding Guidelines. If metrics are configured for the guideline, they appear on the Metrics panel in flowsheet format when the guideline is selected. Lab tests and Vital Signs categories have items relevant to the condition already configured to appear in the grid for tracking by default. Note: The Metrics panel appears blank until you select one of the patient's conditions.
