Setup Flowsheets for Metrics Panel in Care Guidelines

The Flowsheets Setup practice template is used to select metrics to track for patients in flowsheet format that appear in the Metrics panel on the Care Guidelines template. The Flowsheets Setup practice template can be used by all specialties. This document provides instructions for configuring metrics flowsheets on the Flowsheets Setup practice template. Flowsheet setups are included with NextGen Adaptive Content Engine (formerly NextGen KBM) the system, configured at the practice level. These flowsheet setups can be modified and new setups added. Flowsheets can also be setup by provider. Configure Flowsheets for Metrics

You can configure the existing flowsheet for the metrics using Flowsheets Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Flowsheets Setup template. Flowsheetss Setup In the Condition field, select a condition guideline, and then select OK. The default flowsheet setup at the practice level for the guideline displays in the Metrics Flowsheet Items grid. In the Provider field, select a provider, and then select OK, if appropriate. Note: Selecting a provider creates this flowsheet setup at the provider level only. To add a metric to the flowsheet: Select the field above the Category column and then select an option. Select the field above the Item Name column and select an option. Select Add. The new metric appears in the grid. Select Yes to save changes and close the template. Note: To remove a metric from the flowsheet, you can select the appropriate row in the Metrics Flowsheet Items grid, and select Remove. View Metrics Flowsheets on the Care Guidelines Template

Providers can view metrics for a patient such as lab and vital signs values, for up to 10 rows of data on the Care Guidelines template in the Metrics panel. Data is displayed in a flowsheet format that can be configured by practice or by provider on the Flowsheets Setup practice template. The Metrics grid is view-only and displays results from the Orders module. The Metrics grid also displays vital signs and vision screening. Metrics flowsheets are displayed on the Metrics panel when you select a condition listed in the blue left side pane of the Care Guidelines template. The conditions listed are those for which clinical guidelines have been activated for the patient. When you first open the Care Guidelines template and expand the Metrics panel, it appears blank. Flow sheets do not appear until you select a guideline listed in the blue left side bar under Outstanding Guidelines. Metrics

You can view the metrics for a patient and can configure on the Flowsheets Setup template. If metrics is configured for the guideline, they appear on the Metrics panel when the guideline is selected. By default, the categories Lab Test and Vital Signs are configured to display relevant items in the grid for tracking, based on the condition. Sort the Metrics Flowsheet Items

You can change the order or sort the metrics flowsheet items using Flowsheets Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Flowsheets Setup template. Flowsheet Setup In the Condition field, select a condition guideline, and then select OK. The default flowsheet setup at the practice level for the guideline displays in the Metrics Flowsheet Items grid. To change the order of the categories listed in the Metrics Flowsheet, do the following: Select the Change Category Order check box. The Metrics Flowsheet Items grid displays the categories currently setup in the flowsheet. Select the category row that you want to move. Select the row to move the category. The grid refreshes to display all metrics flowsheet items based on the new order of the categories and their Item Sort value. Change Category Order check box is automatically cleared. Open the Flowsheets Setup Practice Template

You can create a flowsheet setup or configure the existing flowsheet. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. In the Select Template window, select the Practice tab. In the Show section, select All. To access the Flowsheets Setup practice template, do one of the following: Double-click Flowsheets Setup. Select Flowsheets Setup, and then select OK. Select Template The Flowsheets Setup practice template opens.
