Link Guidelines or Tests to Scanned Document Types

You can link a guideline or test to a scanned document type to satisfy a guideline.

When you scan a patient’s document into the document type with a date of service, NextGen® Enterprise EHR recognizes the date as the completed date and automatically satisfies the guideline. NextGen® Enterprise EHR also recalculates and displays a due date of the guideline on the runtime Care Guidelines template.

  1. Open File Maintenance.
  2. In Document Management Master Files - System, complete the prerequisite configurations.
  3. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  4. From File , select System / Practice Template.
    The Select Template window opens.
  5. On the Practice tab, select the All option.
  6. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK.
    The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens.
  7. In the Manage Groups and Options panel, select the Enable Document Types to satisfy guidelines checkbox.
  8. Expand theInterventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel and selectDocument Types/ Codifications section. Care_Guidelines_Setup
  9. In the Intervention/Test Name field, select a guideline or test.
    The document types linked to the guideline or test appear in the Document Type grid.
  10. In theDocument Type field, select a document type, and then select OK.
    The Add/Update button is enabled.

  11. Select Add/Update.
    The selected document type is added to the grid.
  12. Scan the patient's document, select a date of service, and submit the document.
    The application automatically satisfies the care guidelines and recalculates the due date of the guideline on the runtime Care Guidelines Paged View template.
