Link Guidelines or Tests to Scanned Document Types

You can link a guideline or test to a scanned document type to satisfy a guideline. When you scan a patient’s document into the document type with a date of service, NextGen® Enterprise EHR recognizes the date as the completed date and automatically satisfies the guideline. NextGen® Enterprise EHR also recalculates and displays a due date of the guideline on the runtime Care Guidelines template. Open File Maintenance. In Document Management Master Files - System, complete the prerequisite configurations. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File , select System / Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. In the Manage Groups and Options panel, select the Enable Document Types to satisfy guidelines checkbox. Expand theInterventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel and selectDocument Types/ Codifications section.Care_Guidelines_Set

Pre-requisites to Use Document Types to Satisfy a Guideline

You can set up the pre-requisites to use Document Types to satisfy a care guideline. Before you begin To use the document types to satisfy a guideline, you must do the following configurations in the File Maintenance > Document Management Master Files - System to be able to link guidelines or tests to the scanned document types in the Document Types/ Codifications section in the Interventions/Test Equivalents/Descriptions panel on the Care Guidelines Setup template to satisfy the guidelines. Configure the required document categories. Configure the date of service. Configure the required document types with the attributes, security rights and link them to the document categories. Link and then mark the date of service as required to the document type. Document Types/Codifications

To satisfy a guideline, link the guideline or test to a scanned document type. To satisfy a guideline based on the tests that have not been ordered by the practice but performed elsewhere and the results are sent to the practice, you can use the Document Types/Codifications section in the Interventions/Test Equivalents/Descriptions panel on the Care Guidelines Setup template to link guidelines or tests to scanned document types. You can do the following: Link a guideline or test to one or multiple document types. Update or remove the linked document types. View all the document types that are linked to the selected guideline or test. Add a document type for each group of intervention equivalent tests. For example, if a breast MRI meets the criteria for a mammogram, in addition to the mammogram document type, you can also add a document type for breast MRI Note: NextGen Healthcare by default provides a linked colonoscopy document type for the colonoscopy guideline or test in the documen

Remove/Inactivate an Existing Orderable Guideline Item

You can remove an orderable test item of a patient on the Care Guideline Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Intervention/Orders Setup panel, select the guideline or test item from the grid. Details for the guideline or test item appear in the fields above the grid. Select Remove. The guideline or test item no longer appears in the grid as active for the selected Reason type. Review Removed (Inactivated) Guideline Test Items

You can review the removed orderable test item of a patient on the Care Guideline Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Intervention/Orders Setup panel, select the Show only Removed/Inactive checkbox. The data grid refreshes to display all guideline or test items that are removed and are not active for the selected Reason type. Select Care Guideline Items to Remove

You can remove a patient's care guidelines using the Report and Remove panel. In the Report and Remove panel, you can search for specific care guideline items and their associated patient level data to review and then remove, if desired. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, Select System/Practice Templates. The Select Template window opens. From the Practice tab, select All. A list of practice-level templates opens. Select Care Guidelines Clear and Restore, and then select OK. The Care Guidelines Clear and Restore practice template opens. In the Report and Remove panel, select All Practice or Current Practice. Select one or more search criteria for the following: Applying Provider Condition/Reason Guide line Item Note: The corresponding Clear link clears the field when you change or remove your selection.
