Scan Documents

Before you begin

  • Your clinic is integrated with NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  • You have set your NextGen default provider and location in NextGen® Mobile.
  • Your dictator profile is linked to your NextGen® Enterprise credentials in NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal.

  • Your linked NextGen® Enterprise account has scanning access rights turned on in System Administrator.
  • Your linked NextGen® Enterprise account belongs to a security group that is assigned the appropriate document types.

You can scan up to ten pages per document and assign them to a predefined document type. When you save your scan, the document is saved in PDF format and uploaded to the patient's chart.

  1. Open NextGen® Mobile.
  2. Open the Patient Chart view.
  3. Select Docs & Images .
    The Docs & Images section opens.
  4. Select Scan.
    The scan document view opens.

    The camera automatically detects the outline of the image and focuses the camera lens to sharpen the image quality. By default, the camera opens in the automatic shutter mode where the camera automatically captures the image when the proper focus settings are met.

  5. To switch your camera to the manual mode, select Manual.
  6. Capture the document image.
  7. Select Save .
    The Scan window opens.

  8. To delete a page, select the image, and then select .
  9. To scan another page, select Add Page
  10. To select a document type, select, Select Document Type, and then select the desired document type from the list.
    The Scan window opens with the associated data fields. Few fields are displayed with the relevant patient details.
  11. To save the scanned document to the patient's chart, select .
    The scanned document is saved to the patient's chart and appears on the Docs & Images tab on the Patient Chart window.
