Add Exam Tools in the GET

On the GET template, select the icon. The Options and Setting menu opens. From the menu, select Settings. The Graphical Exam Tool -Settings window opens. Click the Exam Tools tab. Click Add. A New Exam Tool entry appears at the top of the Findings list and the Properties pane shows the default values for an exam tool. Click Name and replace the default value with the name of the exam tool. The name entered appears as an image tab on the GET. Click the Image Name list and select the image. Note: Ensure that you have placed the image in the Template Image Path directory. Click the Image Sex list and select the value. Note: The image only appears for patients of the selected sex. GET Exam Tools

The GET is delivered with a comprehensive set of exam tools. By default, every exam tool that is appropriate for a specialty is included in every reason for visit. You may choose to remove the exam tools from certain reasons for visits to simplify the display. For example, you may remove most exam tools from the acne reason for visit since only the face and body are involved in the exam. When configuring exam tools, you can: Add new exam tools to the GET. Add or change the exam tools defined for the derm_exam profile. Add or change the exam tools defined for each reason for visit. GET Images You can add images to the GET. Before you add an image, you must create the image and store it in the proper location. Add Exam Tools in the GET You can add additional exam tools if you have images that you prefer to use. You can also change the attributes of existing exam tools if needed Manage Exam Tool for a Reason for Visit You can define what exam tool need to appear for each reason for visit.

Graphical Exam Tool Settings

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) in the Findings panel allows you to capture and save images, view follow-up items, and modify various settings for ease of use. The top-right side of the GET includes buttons as described in the table. Button Tooltip Action or Display Follow Up Items Click to display follow-up items. If the findings in the GET grid are flagged, the number of flagged (follow up) items appears on the button. Acquire Images from Scanner or Camera Select a finding on the static illustration or in the GET grid and click to display video device. The camera button allows you to capture images from a scanner or camera. The images save as .bmp file. Click OK. The image appears on the left pane, below the Findings section. Save Annotated Image to Chart Click to save the annotated image to patient chart. Options and Settings Popup Menu Click to display sub-menu for additional settings. Update Existing Descriptions

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) allows you to update existing descriptions of patient images with the finding name and region description when they get attached to findings. The image description for each finding is unique. The finding with the same name and region is updated as Finding Name - Region Description(x) , where x increases the image description starting from 2. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient. Select an existing encounter or create an encounter. On the Encounter History or Categories tab, select any image. The image opens. On the main toolbar, select Save. The Save Image File window opens. Enter the Image Description, select the Save image as, and select OK. The image is saved to the patients chart. Open the template that contains the GET component. The GET component window opens. Graphical Exam Tool (GET)

NextGen® Enterprise EHR use templates to record and store patient demographic and medical information electronically. Templates provide a simple way to enter medical information and compile patient records. All of the data entered into a template can later be used for statistical reports, document generation, and further review of the patient's information. NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers a set of predefined templates known as NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine and enables the creation of user-defined templates by system administrators. Based on the setup of a specific template or trigger, some workflows may follow those in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules (for example, Medications, Procedures, Problems), and some may be specific to the template. Graphical Exam Tool Annotations

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) enables you to: Place annotations on images to document the location of findings. The placement of the annotations is converted into text and captured as an attribute of the finding. The attributes are saved to the patient's chart. For example, a dermatologist can place findings for cancer on an image. The attributes related to each finding can include size, color, location, or description. Attach a finding to a chief complaint or reason for visit. You can attach multiple findings to different reasons for visit. Mark a finding for follow-up and create a to-do task for the finding. Attach an image (photo or drawing) to a finding. The image can be from the provider's file system or from the patient's chart for the current encounter.
