General Document Options

Option	Description
Default Histories to "Reviewed no changes"	Sets the document detail option to reviewed for all the history sections by default and prints histories as reviewed on the document, unless the following applies: The Include detail in document option is selected in run time and the Reviewed, no changes option is selected for Family, Social, and Past Medical Histories in the History Review template on the Histories template.
Disable Chart Note generation	If you select this option, the Chart Note document does not launch anywhere in the application. If you clear this option, the application allows for the generation of a Chart Note document normally.
Set templates other than the Master document and Chart Note to Offline document generation	Sets the document generation offline on the respective templates. By selecting this check box, you can also configure the Generate Document button in the Communication panel to submit the Telephone Call Communication document for offline generation.
Enable auto-generating visit documents on Submit Code	Configures the system to generate the documents upon clicking the Submit Code button.
Set Master document to Offline document generation	Configures the system to generate the master document offline. If you clear this option, the master document is generated normally.
Set Chart Note to Offline document generation	Configures the system to generate the Chart Note document offline. If you clear this option, the master document gets generated normally.
Show document generation section on Finalize	Configures the Finalize template, Evaluation and Management Coding panel to display the Generate Note button to open a list of available documents.
Show Confidential History Information on Master Document	Generates the confidential history information in the Master document. Note: When the Show Confidential History check box is selected on the Practice Configuration template, the system automatically selects the Show Confidential History Information on Master Document check box on the Document Configuration template.

Practice Level Document Configurations

On the Document Configurations practice template, the Practice Level Configurations section enables you to determine how general document options, vital signs, and the Orthopedic and Behavioral Health data appear on the generated documents. General options include opting to generate a master document or Chart Note offline. Offline generation can save the time of the provider that would have been spent waiting for the document to produce a copy in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The master document cannot be disabled. The offline and online functionality is set on the Submit Code button. With the exception of the Preview and Offline buttons on the navigation bar, the master and Chart Note documents are generated together. Online Master Document Generation

By default, when the Chart Note is selected as the document within a patient encounter, the master document is set to generate offline. You can select the Generate master document online after Chart note generation check box to print both the master document and Chart Note online. Configure the Telephone Communication Document to Generate Offline

From the File menu, select System \ Practice Templates. The Select Template window appears. In the Show section, select All. On the Practice tab, open the Document Configuration practice template. In the Practice Level Configurations section under Document Options, select the Set templates other than the Master document and Chart Note to Offline document generation check box to automate the generation as offline. Document Display Settings

The Document Configuration template enables you to generate a document in run time based on preferred settings. You can configure the document elements at the provider and practice levels, but not the document format. The practice template provides the ability to: Set up general, practice-level options and how information displays on documents for: Orthopedic encounters Vital signs Behavioral Health encounters Set up provider-level content for these document types: Chart Note Consult Note Referral Letter When Chart Note is selected as the default document to print from a patient encounter, the master document is set to generate offline. Set Up Preferences by Document Type

In the Provider Level Configuration section, the provider name selected in the Four Point Check automatically populates in the Provider field. Access the Documentation Configuration template. To select a different provider name, click the Provider field. In the Document Type field, click to select a value from the resulting list. Select the Consult Note or Referral Letter document type to add personalized information in the Opening statement and Closing statement fields. Confidential Social History Configuration

The Show Confidential History check box in the Practice Configuration template enables you to include confidential information in the social history document with patient permission.
