Field	Description
Developer	Used to support clinical decisions. This is not a mandatory field. The Developer field is used to identify who added or updated the reference. When you select any care guideline reference from the grid that has been packaged by Nextgen Healthcare and if you haven’t configured the selected reference, the system displays the default value, nextgen healthcare, in the Developer field. Otherwise, it displays the respective developer’s name. When any other fields are updated for the selected care guideline in the template, Developer field gets cleared and can be updated with the developer name.
Funding Source	Used to support clinical decisions. This is not a mandatory field. The Funding Source field is used to identify the funding source of the reference. When you select any care guideline reference from the grid that has been packaged by Nextgen Healthcare and if you haven’t configured the selected reference, the system populates the default value, Nextgen Healthcare, in the Funding Source field. Otherwise it displays the respective funding source’s name. When any other fields are updated for the selected care guideline in the template, the Funding Source field gets cleared and can be updated with the funding source name.
Reference Updated	Used to supports clinical decisions. When you select any reference from the grid, by default, the Reference Updatedfield automatically populates with the last build date if you have not updated or created the reference. When any other fields are updated for the selected reference in the template, the Reference Updated field automatically populates with the current date.

Add a Clinical Reference

On the Assessment Plan Customization template, Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section, double-click any item in the grid to open the Provider's Custom Plan template. Select any Department for any Diagnosis Group. Note: It is recommended that you copy the reference used to all departments in that same Diagnosis Group in order to maintain continuity. It is also important to ensure that there is at least one test in the Diagnosis Group. For example, at least one item populates in the lab tests, diagnostics, office medications, office procedures, office supplies, office labs, instructions, or additional orders. Select Manage References to open the Manage References template.In the Order Type filters, Lab Tests is selected by default. To change the Order Type, select a different filter option.If there is no order populated in the numbered field, the Reference field remains read-only. Add Clinical References to the My Custom Plan Setup

From the NextGen® Enterprise top toolbar, select the File menu and double-click System/Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, under Show, select All. Scroll down to double-click My Custom Plan Setup. On the Order Set Configuration panel, do one of the following: Highlight an Order Set from the grid to update. In the Order Set Name field, click and then click the top, blank row to free text an entry in the field. In the Diagnosis Group field, click to choose a value from the list. Click the Dept. and Provider fields to select an item from the resulting list. Click the Class field to choose an order type from the list. In the Order field, click to select a value. Free text in the Reference field. Note: The Developer, Funding Source, and Reference Updated fields are used to support clinical decisions. Clinical References

The Provider's Custom Plan and My Custom Plan Setup templates that are part of the Assessment Plan Customization template setup include the ability to enter, edit, and remove clinical references for books, journals, and websites. You can refer to clinical references to understand why certain tests are recommended for particular conditions. On the Provider's Custom Plan template, a chain link icon appears when a reference exists for the corresponding order. If there is an icon next to the row, hover your mouse over the name of the order, code, or chain link icon to display a tool tip with the associated reference. The My Custom Plan Setup template includes a Reference field enabling you to free text the associated link and informational text letting you know that valid references are mandated as part of clinical decision support requirements. Configure Intervention Attributes and Reference Information

You can configure the source attributes to satisfy the decision support intervention on a specific intervention or test using the Attributes View and Management template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Intervention/Orders Setup panel, select a record in the data grid, and then select the Attributes/Feedback link. The Attributes View and Management template opens. Note: The Attributes/Feedback link is available in the left navigation bar on the Care Guidelines Paged View template. Modify an Existing Order Set

On the Order Set Configuration panel, select an order row from the grid. The fields above the grid fill with the existing order set data. Order Set Configuration Make modifications to the appropriate fields. Note: When you update a reference, the system clears the Developer and Funding Source fields and you can manually update the developer and funding source names, respectively. Add a New Diagnosis Group and Code List

Click the Clear button to remove data from all of the fields. Enter a new diagnosis group name in the Diagnosis Group field. If required, enter a Description of the new category. Select a Reference System from the picklist. The picklist includes reference systems created in the Manage Reference Systems section. If available, enter a Reference website or Order set website. Note: The Restrict Code check box for code restrictions is set in the Manage Reference Systems panel and cannot be changed in the Add Diagnosis Group section.
