Document Patient Allergies
You can document the allergy details of a patient.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- On the Intake template, in the Allergies panel, select Add.
The Adult Allergies template opens.
- Select the applicable allergen check boxes, and then select the associated reaction from the resulting list.
Note: If the patient's allergy is not available on the Allergy Reactions template, you can exit the Allergy Reactions template. You can select Save & Close to return to the Allergies panel. With the allergen selected, to open the Allergies module and document the patient's allergies, you can select Update.
- Select Save & Close.
- To enter comments about the allergen, select the Comment link and enter the details on the Allergy Comments window.
CAUTION:You must not enter patient allergies manually on the Allergy Comments window. You must enter all allergies on the Allergies module.
If the Joint Commission standards are turned on, you can document the allergy details after entering whether the patient is new or established along with the Visit type and Historian. After documenting allergies, you can continue entering information for the other panes.
