Medications Panel on the ASC - Intake Template

The patient's medication details documented on the ASC -Scheduling Questions template or ASC - Pre admission template appear in the Medications panel of the ASC - Intake template. For information on the Medications module documentation, see Medications Module. The intake staff reviews and makes the necessary changes to the patient's medication details as appropriate on the ASC - Intake template. You can view the patient's active medications and the medications prescribed, modfied, and renewed during the selected encounter in the Medications panel. You can enter additional prescriptions for the patient, and reconcile the medications listed with what medications the patient is actually consuming and how the patient is consuming them. The No medications this encounter check box selection is encounter-based. If you select the No medications this encounter check box for a previous encounter and prescribe medication in a current encounter by selecting the Prescribed Elsewhere check box, then

General Panel on the ASC - Intake Template

The General panel enables the nurse to document provider details and scheduled date and time of procedure. This panel includes the Patient check-in time field to enter the time when the patient arrives at ASC, and the Admission time field to enter the time when the patient was taken to the ASC suite. You can click the drop-down arrow to open the Time Entry template and enter the exact time in Hour, Minutes, and Seconds, or you can click the clock next to the time fields to input the current system time. Enter New Allergies for a Patient

You can document allergy information for a patient. In the Allergies panel on the Intake template, if the patient reports a new allergy since the last visit, click Add. The Adult Allergies template opens. Adult Allergies Select the applicable check boxes and then select the associated reaction from the corresponding list. Click Save & Close. (Optional) Click the Allergies added today option. If the patient's allergy is not available in the Adult Allergies template, click Update in the Allergies panel to open the Allergies module and document the patient's allergies. In the Allergies panel, the Comment link opens the Allergy Comments template to add any additional information on the documented allergies. You must not enter patient allergies manually in the Allergy Comments template. Enter all allergies in the Allergies module. The ASC - Intake template is designed to be used by the nurse, Surgery Coordinator or clinical support staff to review and/or document details such as patient's allergy information, current medications, vital signs, standing orders, any barriers to care, and various other findings including the review of systems. This template is completed on the day of procedure. Document Patient Allergies

You can document the allergy details of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake template, in the Allergies panel, select Add. The Adult Allergies template opens. Adult Allergies template Select the applicable allergen check boxes, and then select the associated reaction from the resulting list. Note: If the patient's allergy is not available on the Allergy Reactions template, you can exit the Allergy Reactions template. You can select Save & Close to return to the Allergies panel. With the allergen selected, to open the Allergies module and document the patient's allergies, you can select Update. Select Save & Close. To enter comments about the allergen, select the Comment link and enter the details on the Allergy Comments window.
