Use the General Panel on the ASC - Scheduling Questions Template

The General panel enables you to document general information on the procedure such as scheduled date and time of the procedure, location where the procedure is to be performed, and the rendering provider, specialty physician, and/or anesthesia provider involved during various stages of procedure. Select the Established patient or New patient option. General Panel If applicable, click the Historian field and select the historian providing the information on the patient's medical condition. Click the following fields and select appropriate providers from the corresponding list: Rendering provider Primary specialty physician Anesthesia provider To clear the values from the provider fields, double-click the blank space in the respective list. Note: The list that opens from the Anesthesia provider field allows you to search for the provider by typing the first three letters of the last name. Patient's General Information

The General panel, on the Intake template displays if the encounter is for a new or established patient. The Established patient option is selected by default if the patient has previous encounters. You can document the person providing the patient information in the Historian field. When someone else interprets the patient’s communication, you can use the Interpreter Details link to document the details for Interpreter Details category. You can use the Configurable Questionnaires link to document the details for categories available in the Selected Category picklist. The Transitioning into Care link opens the Transitioning Into Care template that captures electronic Summary of Care requests and/or receipts that are completed electronically and document the information as reportable fields on the template. Documenting Patients' General Information

You can document a patient's general information on the Intake template. General panel on Intake You can specify whether the patient is new or established for the current encounter in the General panel on the Intake template. If encounters exist for the patient, the Established patient option is automatically selected. When someone provides details on-behalf of patient, you can document the historian details in the Historian field. When someone interprets communication on-behalf of patient, you can select the Interpreter Details link to document the details of the interpreter. You can select the Configurable Questionnaires link to document the screening details of the patient. You can select the Transitioning into Care link to document the summary of care record details for a patient. You can select the Family planning encounter and Disability check boxes if an encounter is a family planning encounter and describes any disability, respectively. Medications Panel on the ASC - Intake Template

The patient's medication details documented on the ASC -Scheduling Questions template or ASC - Pre admission template appear in the Medications panel of the ASC - Intake template. For information on the Medications module documentation, see Medications Module. The intake staff reviews and makes the necessary changes to the patient's medication details as appropriate on the ASC - Intake template. You can view the patient's active medications and the medications prescribed, modfied, and renewed during the selected encounter in the Medications panel. You can enter additional prescriptions for the patient, and reconcile the medications listed with what medications the patient is actually consuming and how the patient is consuming them. The No medications this encounter check box selection is encounter-based. If you select the No medications this encounter check box for a previous encounter and prescribe medication in a current encounter by selecting the Prescribed Elsewhere check box, then

Procedure Panel on the ASC - Physician Procedure Template

In the Procedure panel, the provider can document procedure details to be performed on the patient. For information on the Procedure panel documentation, see Procedure Panel on the ASC - Scheduling Questions Template. If the case ID of encounters is the same, the procedure details documented by the scheduler or clinical support staff on the Procedure Preadmission Visit Type carry forward to the Procedure panel on the Ambulatory Surgery framework templates in the next subsequent encounters. Allergies Panel on the ASC - Intake Template

The patient's allergy details documented on the ASC - Scheduling Questions template or ASC - Pre admission template appear in the Allergies panel of the ASC -Intake template. The intake staff reviews and makes the necessary changes to the patient's allergy information as appropriate on the ASC - Intake template. In the Allergies panel on the Intake template, if the patient reports a new allergy since the last visit, click Add. The Adult Allergies template opens. Adult Allergies Select the applicable check boxes and then select the associated reaction from the corresponding list. Click Save & Close. (Optional) Click the Allergies added today option. If the patient's allergy is not available in the Adult Allergies template, click the Update button in the Allergies panel to open the Allergies module and document the patient's allergies.
