Document Allergies for a Pediatric Patient

If the patient reports a new allergy since the last visit, you can document it in Allergies panel.

Before you begin

If the Joint Commission standards are enabled on the Practice Configuration template, document the allergy details after entering whether the patient is new or established along with the Visit Type and Historian. After documenting allergies, continue entering other details.
  1. Open the Intake template.
  2. In the Allergies panel, click Add.
    The Peds Allergies template opens.
  3. Select the applicable check boxes, and then select the associated reaction from the corresponding list.
  4. To add allergy, do one of the following:
    • To document the allergy severity and additional details, click Manage Allergies.

      A message appears indicating to confirm if you want to add the selected allergy to the Medication Allergies module. Click Yes. Document the additional details in the Medication Allergies module, and close the module.     • To add the allergy record without additional details, click Save & Close.
    A grid in the Allergies panel displays the added allergy record.
  5. To enter any additional details, click the Comment link.
