Enter Studies in the Diagnostics Tab

The Diagnostic Studies template includes the patient’s insurance information and policy number if they have been previously entered into the system. The Today’s Assessments grid includes a list of diagnoses selected in the Assessment tab. The Diagnostic Studies template is part of a group of templates that use the last assessment or diagnosis selected on any of the templates in the group as the working assessment. The system defaults to the current working assessment. You can select another assessment, which becomes the new working assessment that carries forward to the other templates in the group. On the Diagnostic Studies template, click Add to open the Add or Update Assessment template and add any additional assessments.The application fills Vendor field automatically with the preferred vendor if it has been configured in the NextGen File Maintenance application. Shared Working Assessment

The group of templates that share the selected assessment for the patient. You can initially select or change the working assessment in any of the templates that share the working assessment. If a single assessment exists, the application selects it as the working assessment. If you remove one of multiple assessments on a template, you must select a new working assessment. On some templates, the working assessment appears in the Selected Diagnosis field, Selected Dx field, or Selected Assessment field. On other templates, the working assessment appears in the Today's Assessment grid. The last assessment or diagnosis you select on any of the following templates carries over as the working assessment when you open another template in the group. Access the Add or Update Assessment Template

Open the ASC - Physician Procedure template. In the Assessment / Plan panel, click Add/Update. The Add or Update Assessment template opens. Remove an Assessment from Today's Assessments

Using the Assessments Tab

The Assessments tab in the My Plan template set houses the Add or Update Assessment template. The grids on the Assessments tab can be filtered. For example, in the Billing Diagnosis History section, selecting the Show Chronic only check box displays only those diagnoses that are not acute. Selecting the option to Add Assessments on 1 click speeds up the documentation process by including the diagnosis description and code for Today's Assessment in the grid and Problems module without having to click Add/Update. The Medications or Immunizations links can be used at any time during the encounter to access the associated module.
