Configure Measures for Claims-Based Reporting
On the Claims Based Reporting Setup panel, system administrators can add existing or newly-created measures to practices.
- On the Provider CQM Maintenance template, expand the Claims Based Reporting Setup panel.
- In the Practice(s) to View/Update section, do one of the following:
- To view or update measures for all practices, select the All option.
- To view or update measures for a practice, select the Selected option, and select a practice from the list.
- In the System field, do one of the following:
- To add an existing measure, select QID, click the Measure # field, and select a measure on the Dbp Provider Measure List window.
- To add new claims-based measure, select Claims Based Measures. Select the Measure # field, and select <Add New> on the Dbp Provider Measure List window. You can type the measure number and measure description.
Note: For CPT II codes, select the Claims Based Measures system.
- To add an existing measure, select QID, click the Measure # field, and select a measure on the Dbp Provider Measure List window.
- Select the Procedure Code1 field, use the search window to locate and select a CPT code, and then select OK.
The system automatically fills the Procedure Description field.
- To configure an exception to the measure, select the Modifier field and select an option.
Note: Codes with attached modifiers are considered as exceptions. You must attach a modifier to a measure to indicate that it is an exception. If you do not want to report exceptions, you only need to configure the CPT II code without modifiers.
- To add another CPT code, use the Procedure Code2 field.
Some fields are filled automatically as follows:
- If the measure is supported by NextGen® HQM, the HQM Supported field displays Yes; else, No.
- If the reporting structure of the measure is claims-based, the Claims Based check box is selected.
- If the reporting structure of the measure is registry-based, the Registry Based check box is selected.
- Select Add.
The measure is added to the grid.Note: The newly added measure appears on the Exceptions/Measures template only if you add it to the Provider Measures (not CMS) panel.
- Update a Measure for Claims-Based Reporting
You can update the claims-based reporting measures anytime for reporting. - Remove a Measure for Claims-Based Reporting
You can remove measures at any time. Removed measures are not deleted, but are disabled and do not appear on the Exceptions/Measures template. If you remove a measure, patient measures created when the measure was active retain the values. - Restore a Measure for Claims-Based Reporting
You can restore the removed measures as active measures in the grid.
