Add Top Reasons for Visit

You can configure the complaints that appear in the Reason for Visit panel by adding them to the top list on the Framework Content system template. Before including a reason for visit in the top list, ensure that it exists in the all list. Note: You can include up to 14 reasons for visit in the top list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Click the Reason for Visit panel. Set the Filter to top. The top reasons for visit appear in the grid. To select a reason for visit, click the field above the Reason for Visit column of the grid, and click OK. The list includes the reasons for visit from the all list, specific to the selected specialty. Click Add. The reason appears in the Reason for Visit grid and in the Reason for Visit panel on the Framework Content system template. Manage the Reason for Visit Submenu

You can update or delete the items in the Reason for Visit sub-menu. You must enter a sub-menu value before or after the Reason for Visit. In runtime, sub-menus enable you to make another selection to further refine your initial selection. A second selection, in some cases, even a third selection appears. This enables the practice to have a shorter list of reasons for visit. For example, instead of having two reasons that include initial or follow-up, you can add sub-menus initial and follow-up to a reason for visit to indicate whether the visit is initial or follow-up. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Click the Reason for Visit panel. Select the Filter to all. Highlight a complaint in the grid. In the Submenus section, click before and type items in the fields (for example, left, right, and/or bilateral). Add Chief Complaints to the Reason for Visit List

You can set up a chief complaint to be accessible in the Reason for Visit list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Click the Reason for Visit panel. Set the Filter to all. Select a gender from the filter by gender list. To select a reason for visit from the list, click the field above the Reason for Visit column of the grid. Note: If the required reason for visit is not listed, you can access the Manage Custom Links practice template to add the reason for visit. Click OK. The selected item appears in the field above the Reason for Visit column of the grid. Click Add. The added chief complaint appears in the Reason for Visit list. Change the Order of Reasons for Visit List

You can change the order of reason for visit list using the Change Order option. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Click the Reason for Visit panel. Select the Change Order check box. Reason for Visit Select a row in the grid to be moved and click the desired row to set the new position. Patient's Reason for Visit

You can document a patient's reasons for visit. In the Reason for Visit panel, you can document the History of Present Illness (HPI), problems, and diagnosis history as the reason for a patient visit. When you select a reason for visit that is already selected in the current encounter, an alert appears indicating that the reason for visit is already selected. You can either enter the duplicate reason for visit, or remove the duplicate. For a reason for visit that has separate listings for different specialties, such as abrasion, if you select two HPIs from different specialties for the same reason, an alert appears. You can select up to fourteen HPIs simultaneously. Additionally, you can select the Do not launch HPI check box and can select any HPI to open the corresponding HPI template. Note: You can configure sub menu items for reason for visit on the Framework Content system template for the specialty. Document Reasons for a Patient's Visit

You can document up to six reasons for a patient's visit during intake. OpenNextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open theIntaketemplate, and then expand theReason for Visitpanel. To add reasons for the patient's visit without opening another template, select Do not launch HPI, and then do one of the following: Select the reason for visit from the left navigation bar. To add a customized reason, enter the reason in Other, and then select Add. Select Additional / Manage, select appropriate reasons from the Reason for Visit window, and then select Save and Close. Note: You can view all the available history of present illnesses (HPIs) by selecting the All hpis checkbox in the Reason for Visit window.
