Manage the Reason for Visit Submenu

You can update or delete the items in the Reason for Visit sub-menu. You must enter a sub-menu value before or after the Reason for Visit.

In runtime, sub-menus enable you to make another selection to further refine your initial selection. A second selection, in some cases, even a third selection appears. This enables the practice to have a shorter list of reasons for visit. For example, instead of having two reasons that include initial or follow-up, you can add sub-menus initial and follow-up to a reason for visit to indicate whether the visit is initial or follow-up.
  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. Open the Framework Content system template.
  3. Click the Reason for Visit panel.
  4. Select the Filter to all.
  5. Highlight a complaint in the grid.
  6. In the Submenus section, click before and type items in the fields (for example, left, right, and/or bilateral).

  7. If a sub-menu listing is required after the complaint, click after, and type the items in the field.
  8. If a sub-menu listing is required before and after the complaint, use Submenu 1 for the before listings and Submenu 2 for the after listings.
  9. To remove a complaint from the Reason for Visit list, click Delete.
