Make an Assessment Status Required

With the Require Assessment Status option turned on, no assessment is populated into a grid until a status is applied. If the setting to require a status is turned off (not selected), documented assessments can be saved without a status. On the Practice Configuration practice template, in the Assessment section, select the Require Assessment Statuscheck box. Practice Preferences Click Save and Close. After an assessment is selected in run time, the Add or Update Assessment template opens for you to enter the status. Access the Practice Configuration Template

Click the File menu and select System \ Practice Template. On the Select Template window, click the Practice tab. In the Show section, click All to see a complete list of practice templates. To access the Practice Configuration template, do one of the following: Double-click Practice Configuration. Select Practice Configuration and click OK. The Practice Configuration template opens. Configuring Preferences for Assessments

Using the Assessments Tab

The Assessments tab in the My Plan template set houses the Add or Update Assessment template. The grids on the Assessments tab can be filtered. For example, in the Billing Diagnosis History section, selecting the Show Chronic only check box displays only those diagnoses that are not acute. Selecting the option to Add Assessments on 1 click speeds up the documentation process by including the diagnosis description and code for Today's Assessment in the grid and Problems module without having to click Add/Update. The Medications or Immunizations links can be used at any time during the encounter to access the associated module. Configuration Options in Assessment Section

The configuration in the Assessment section applies to diagnosis fields. Assessment section The Assessment section enables you to configure the following options: Assessment Status - If you select the Require Assessment Status check box: The provider must select the assessment status to add the assessment in the Today's Assessments grid on the run-time Add or Update Assessment template. The Status field on the Diagnosis, Assessment/Plan History template becomes mandatory and system shall display a message "Status is mandatory” in red font. Also, Copy All Dx/AP on the Diagnosis, Assessment/Plan History template will be hidden. Staff to Look up Diagnosis - If you select the Staff to Look up Diagnosis check box, the Staff to look up diagnosis code check box appears on the run-time Add or Update Assessment template. Update the Assessment Details in Today's Assessments grid

If you want to update the assessment details in the Today's Assessments grid, Highlight an assessment in the Today's Assessments grid. Select or enter appropriate value in the Status, Side, Site, Impression, Differential Dx fields. Click Update. If the diagnosis is chronic, select the Mark diagnosis as chronic check box. If you want to add the selected assessment to the problem list, tracked problems, and/or favorite list, select the Clinical problems, My tracked problems, and/or My favorites check box respectively. Note: You can click the other tabs such as My Plan, A/P Details, and so on to document treatment plan, prescribe medications, order labs or X- rays, and request referrals.
