Using the Assessments Tab

The Assessments tab in the My Plan template set houses the Add or Update Assessment template. The grids on the Assessments tab can be filtered. For example, in the Billing Diagnosis History section, selecting the Show Chronic only check box displays only those diagnoses that are not acute. Selecting the option to Add Assessments on 1 click speeds up the documentation process by including the diagnosis description and code for Today's Assessment in the grid and Problems module without having to click Add/Update. The Medications or Immunizations links can be used at any time during the encounter to access the associated module. Make an Assessment Status Required

With the Require Assessment Status option turned on, no assessment is populated into a grid until a status is applied. If the setting to require a status is turned off (not selected), documented assessments can be saved without a status. On the Practice Configuration practice template, in the Assessment section, select the Require Assessment Statuscheck box. Practice Preferences Click Save and Close. Bypassing the Add/Update Button When Entering Assessments

Practice Preferences Selecting Add Assessments on 1 click enables you to include the selected diagnosis description and code to the Today's Assessment grid without having to click Add/Update: If the practice setting default is set to Add Assessments on 1 click, upon opening the template, the check box is automatically selected by default and the one-click functionality is active. If the practice setting is not turned on, the check box is not selected upon opening the Add or Update Assessment template. After the Add or Update Assessment template opens, any changes to the selection of the Add Assessments on 1 click check box remains until it is either manually changed again or a new encounter is opened. Configuring Preferences for Assessments

There are many settings configured at the practice-level on the Practice Configuration template that determine how patient assessments appear in the My Custom Plan template: Assessment Status- determines if recording the status of each diagnosis is a required element in the documentation of patient encounters Staff to Lookup Diagnosis- enables the provider to instruct support staff regarding diagnosis selection by tasking One Click Assessment- time-saving functionality that may or may not be enabled as per your practice's standards Problem List Note- determines whether the most recent note from the current user or from all users displays for the selected problem Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC)- when enabled, selecting an advanced radiology order that meets the criteria initiates related functionality and records data collected on the ACR score window Access the Practice Configuration Template Make an Assessment Status Required Hide or Show the Staff to Look up Diagnosis Link Bypassing t

Setting a Default View for the Problem List Note

You can set a default view for the problem list note in the Assessment section on the Practice Configuration template. Document an Assessment

To add or edit a diagnosis on the Add or Update Assessment template, use one of the following sections: Billing Diagnosis History Clinical Problems My Favorites The new or revised diagnosis appears in the list of diagnoses in the Today's Assessment grid. If a working assessment does not exist, the diagnosis information appears in the ICD description and ICD Code fields. If your practice required a status when you selected the diagnosis, it appears in the Status field. If a working assessment exists, it remains selected in the Today's Assessment grid, and the ICD description, ICD code, and status for the working assessment are retained. To change the working assessment, select the diagnosis being addressed for this encounter in the Today's Assessment grid. The selected diagnosis becomes the new working assessment that carries forward to the other templates that share the assessment.
