Add Diagnosis Group
On the Dx Groups Reference Systems practice template, navigate to the Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel, Add Diagnosis Group section. Enter a new diagnosis group name, in Diagnosis Group field. Enter a description of the new diagnosis group in Description field. Select a system to associate with the diagnosis group from Reference System field. The list includes reference systems created in the Manage Reference Systems panel of the Dx Groups Reference Systems practice template. From Age Group, select Adult/All if the diagnosis group is applicable to all patients or Peds if the diagnosis group is applicable only to pediatric patients. If available, enter a URL in the Reference website field or Order set website field. Select Restrict code for code restrictions. This allows only one associated code for this category, only if the category is on the Protocols, Office Diagnostics, or PT Exercise templates. Add a Diagnosis Group and Codes to a Reference System
On the Dx Groups Reference Systems practice template, in the Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel, you can create diagnosis groups for a reference system and add diagnosis codes to a diagnosis group. On the Dx Groups Reference Systems practice template, navigate to the Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. In the Add Diagnosis Group section, enter the details. In the Assign Diagnosis Codes to Group section, enter the required details. Click Save & Close. Assign Diagnosis Codes to a Diagnosis Group
On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config practice template, expand the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. From the Add Diagnosis Group grid, select the desired record. Note: To find a newly created group, select the View Dx groups created/modified today option above the grid. The name of selected diagnosis group appears above the Assigned Diagnosis Codes grid. In the Assign Diagnosis Codes to Group section: In the Description field, enter the few characters of desired diagnosis description. For Type, select a code type: ICD-9 or ICD-10. Click Search. The diagnosis codes matching with selected search criteria appear in the Search Results grid. Select the desired diagnosis code from the search results and click Right arrow icon. The assigned diagnosis code appears in the Assigned Diagnosis Codes grid. To move all the codes from Search Results grid to Assigned Diagnosis Codes grid, click Move all icon. Add a Diagnosis Code to a Group
Select a row in the grid to populate the Assigned Diagnosis Codes to Group – [Diagnosis Group name] grid with the associated codes. Set the Type to ICD-9 or ICD-10. Type the applicable data in the Description or Code field. Select Search. To include a single item, select the desired item from the Search Results grid and select the right arrow to move it to the Assigned Diagnosis Codes grid.The top arrow moves all of the items and the bottom arrow moves only the highlighted selection.An alert will display if the group is restricted. Manage Diagnosis Codes in a Diagnosis Group
You can remove diagnosis codes and change the order of diagnosis codes in a diagnosis group. On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template, expand the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. Note: By default, all active diagnosis groups are displayed in the grid of the Add Diagnosis Group section. You can filter the values in the grid by selecting the View Dx groups created/modified today option or entering the desired value in the Show field. Select the desired diagnosis group from the grid of the Add Diagnosis Group section. The results are as follows: The details of the selected diagnosis group are filled in their corresponding fields of the Add Diagnosis Group section. The diagnosis codes associated with the selected group are filled in the Assigned Diagnosis Codes grid of the Assign Diagnosis Codes to Group section. Assign Diagnosis Codes to a Diagnosis Group
You can assign diagnosis codes to existing diagnosis groups, which are used on medical record templates for documenting patient's assessment. The active diagnosis codes configured in the diagnosis code library of File Maintenance can be assigned to the diagnosis groups available on the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template. For more information on configuring diagnosis code library, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest File Maintenance Libraries Guide for NextGen® Enterprise.
