Open Lab and Diagnostic Review

You must add an obstetric(OB) poblem to be able to view the Lab and Diagnostic Review link. On the Prenatal Detail template, expand the OB Problems panel and then select Add/Update. The OB Problem Add template opens. Select an obstetric problem or add an obstetric problem. The Lab and Diagnostic Review link is available. Select Lab and Diagnostic Review. The Lab and Diagnostic Review template opens. View Lab and Diagnostic Orders You can view the diagnostics, lab orders, and office services of a patient. Add Obstetric Problem Notes You can add obstetric problem notes for a patient in the Lab and Diagnostic Review template. Order Lab Tests in the Lab Order Template

You can place orders for lab tests performed and billed in your practice or at an external facility. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Lab Order. The Lab Order template opens. To add the diagnoses and procedures, select Dx & Px. Note: Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must select at least one diagnosis to order lab tests. Select one of the following options: Internal for lab tests performed and billed in your practice on the same day. External for lab tests performed and billed at an external facility. From Performing Entity, select the entity performing the lab test. Optional: Select the priority. Note: By default, R - Routine appears in Priority. Select one of the following options to filter the test grid: To display your custom list of configured tests, select My Tests. To display all configured standard tests, select All Tests. Place an Order for Lab or Diagnosis in the Care Guidelines Template

You can add an order for lab and diagnosis in the Care Guidelines template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Review the guideline items in the Care Guidelines panel at each encounter.Items with status due are the items that can be ordered, such as labs and diagnostic studies. Highlight a guideline item to be ordered in the grid.Details for the guideline appear in the respective fields above the grid. Select the Order button.The item's status is updated to display ordered , and the Action field displays the date ordered. If you have recommended care items in the grid, select a recommended care in the grid. Do any of the following: In the Goal field, type a goal for the patient. Select the blue down-arrow and select a goal from the list. Select the Status field and select the status of the recommended care. Document Details of Lab Tests

You can document the details of lab tests to order them for a patient. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Expand the Labs panel. Select one of the following options: Internal for lab tests performed and billed in your practice on the same day. External for lab tests performed and billed at an external facility. From Performing Entity, select the entity performing the lab test. Optional: Select the priority. Order Lab Tests

You can order Lab tests in the Cardiac Orders panel on the Intake template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Select the Cardiac Orders panel. Select Labs.The Labs template opens. Labs Select either Fasting or Hold Medication. Select a diagnosis in the grid to associate it with the lab order. Select the appropriate lab orders. Select the Ordered by field and select the physician from the resulting list. To select a location, click the Location field. To document a time for the order, do one of the following: To select an option for an appointment, click the When field. To select a scheduled appointment, click Appt. Place Orders for Guideline Items

You can process the order placed for the care guidelines of the patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Select a guideline item in the grid. Details for the guideline appears in the fields. You can order items with status due, such as labs and diagnostic studies. Select Order. The item's Status displays ordered. For records that previously display the status due, such as labs and diagnostics, the Action field displays the date ordered. Care Guidelines Note: Orders placed for labs and radiology diagnostic studies are processed and submitted to the Order module using the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template.
